Haha, the kitty has a hat. Hahahahah
In the thread about the flag, I saw your "I don't think anyone here can list 10 Civil War generals without looking them up." Off the top of my head: Lee, Grant, Sherman, Forrest, Johnson, Jackson, Briggs, Stuart, McClellan, and Burnsides I'm a Civil War buff, y'know.
Could also add Meagher and Corcoran to the list, two Irishmen on the union side who have been immortalised in Irish folk music. Plus, one can't forget Chamberlain and his charge at Gettysburg; similarly, Pickett for his (failed) charge. Brigade and division commanders get no love
Hi, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your post in the World War 2 thread. Would you like to discuss it more?
Yeah! I wrote my university dissertation on interwar arms control treaties, and it is pretty rare I get to discuss that with anyone lol
Yeah I bet. I'm really interested in Japanese history, mostly from 1919 to 1945. So I was overjoyed to find that thread. Your dissertation sounds very interesting, how did you come about doing it?
I'm a huuuuuge naval buff (ships are cool!), and arms control in the 1920s and 30s essentially shaped the entirity of the war at sea during the Second World War. Plus everyone in my class was doing really common subjects to do with the war, so I decided to do something a bit more obscure. And there is just something fun of reading British government internal documents from the period, people spoke in such a fun way that isn't really common anymore.
I just wanted to say that, you Sir, are a badass!

I like your question about the lizardmen, you're an interesting one Tabby
Have you ever read "The Sling and the Stone: On War in the 21st Century"? I'm reading it for a class I've got, and it reminded me of the warfare discussion we had a while back.
I've heard of it, but not read it. I will have to look it up.

I just read an article in a newspaper for the first time in years. It was a terrible mistake.
What paper/article was it?
It was the Daily Mail (don't judge me, it was just sitting there in the break room in front of my usual spot and I didn't look at the name) and it was about how scary the Russians are being D:
Well of course you are going to have a bad time if you read the Daily Mail. It is basically the Sun without the tits.
It was love at first sight~
So yeah, how's that going?
Hey, good luck with the stuff you're getting done, being able to feel like you belong to your body is something everyone deserves.
SO LIKE AFTER LIKE A WEEK OF BEING INACTIVE I NOTICED WE WERE PAIRED UP IN THAT ONE THREAD IN DIN
add me on Skype so we could do the do's on that!
Maybe building a Winged Hussar should win the space race. It doesn't feel like a satisfactory win condition right now but I can agree with this change. The historicity of it is questionable but that's the fun of Civ.
Portugal has great music and I feel like Maria I needs a hand, she's a troubled soul. I read that Poland is really good because of the UA so I'll give that a go as well.
But I'll never dominate Maria or Elizabeth.
Also, I just lost a friend who didn't like how I am an anti-feminist. I guess the feminism movement is not accommodating for women who do not agree with them, huh?
Sounds like a shitty friend and feminist tbh.
my profile is suns_irrupt, though my schedule keeping is p poor. I won a game on King with Portugal as a diplo victory. Badass civ.
ITS ALMOST 9 NOW BUT I COULDN'T SLEEP. :c
Also, I've been thinking. I want to portray Dinnies as nations in EU4 but I don't know how many people would want to participate in it. I guess I can go forward with it if say at least five people participate.
RHIANNON. HI. ITS 5:30AM
I perish the thought.
yeah, I spawned next to Rome, Assyria and the Huns. They all turned on me when I pulled ahead and wrecked stuff. Bismarck came to my aid though. what a hunk. I naively think they'll declare war on the people I don't like because I had a good experience with Shaka once.
Sadly I don't think I got far enough to make good use of France's UA, but the music was nice.
Observing how good players play, I notice all the things I do that are silly and probably impede my progress. The stupidest is that I totally ignored the importance of working tiles properly and the fact that you need food to do pretty much anything. I was obsessed with production focus even before my cities were very big so I never built any momentum.
Yeah lots of beaches over here.
What's funny is that despite living in LA my entire, I actually don't know how to swim haha.
Yeah, whenever I try domination I fold very quickly. I'm probably going to try France & a CV next.
I just finished off a game as Polynesia on an Archipelago map which feels real cheap, but I fucked that up too! Everyone's development seemed retarded due to the map so I was way ahead culturally and scientifically until Songhai managed to reach me, decimated most of my shit in a blink, and the Netherlands became a cultural behemoth in the second half.
Luckily I think losing is funny in this game.
What's the easiest victory method/civ combo on King for a sucky player? I won loads of Science victories on Prince but whenever I go for domination or culture on a harder setting I get stomped on or outpaced.
Do you play Civ V? I've been referred to you due to my ineptitude.
Los Angeles, California.
Cool thing about California is that we have widely varying temperatures and climates all within a few hours driving distance.
I need that. It has consistently been around 33 C for the past couple of months.
Seems like I need to relocate.
Lately it has been too hot over here to ride bikes. Or step outside, really.
Also I don't own a bike.
Anything interesting happen/received?
