  • Long time no talk, how are you?

I went down to Edisto after seeing a concert with some friends of mine. I was so hype to see the beach again, then we get there and there's all these man-made metal tower things sticking out of the water everywhere. It was still awesome though.

It's been raining here for two days straight. We get the worst weather I swear, and at the worst times!

    Posted by Guinea

    • oh who did you see at the concert :0
Yeah I wish it would stop raining. I can't go on walks while it's cold and wet

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • A few local guys who do rap, rock, and metal. For the life of me I can't remember their names. There were a lot of juggalos there which is why we went.

But still, the beach was nice. Got to sit on the pier and have dinner and I think it started the end of my writers block.

      Posted by Guinea

    • Oh that sounds pretty lovely. Even with the cold weather. I'd like to see the coast again soon

      Posted by Creiddylad

  • I'm almost too late! Happy birthday! Hope it was a fabulous one!

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • Thanks you uou I went out and got my first legal alcoholic beverage

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • Was it Smirnoff? Please tell me it was. Cause that's the only alcoholic beverage I like. It doesn't matter what flavor of Smirnoff it is, cause they are all that good. And they don't taste like piss water. It actually tastes v good in fact.
      What did you get though?

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • I'm sorry I'm probably one of those people drinking piss water because I genuinely love beer :P As long as it's not a fucking IPA. But no it was something this restaurant was calling a "southern sangria" it was like red wine, vodka, and strawberry puree. I'm pretty down with vodka but a lot of liquor makes me sick

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • Oh no, you poor thing.
      I jest. haha
What you got actually sounds good, aside from the strawberry. I don't like strawberries. What other flavors were there to choose from?

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • more beer for me B)
I think that was it for that mixed drink. I didn't go to a bar just like one of those restaurants that has a bar.

  • Did you ever get that ps3 you've been wanting?

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • I actually got a ps4 during the black friday bundle sale where it was like 200$ and came with the new spiderman game

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • Late reply is late.
What kind of games are you looking for now that you have a ps4?

      Also, congrats on getting one!

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • Oh god a lot. I guess top of the list is persona 5, nier automata, and monster hunter world. I also want to get into the yakuza series

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • Don't forget that Okami HD is on ps4 as well. And it's a lot better than the garbage Wii version. It's only available on the psn online store. But that's up to you.

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • I mean I could have gotten it on the switch but I've always been satisfied with my experience with it on the wii

      Posted by Creiddylad

  • Hail friend! How have you been lately?

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • I've been okay. Just tired and busy from work mostly. You?

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • I'm feeling much better, than I was a few days ago. A few days ago I snapped at my parents and vowed to make every effort to disrespect them, when they use my birth name, and not my preferred name.
Well, it worked! This morning I woke up to a letter on the kitchen table where I eat. It essentially read; in short "Dear, Amber. We will now make every effort to call you by your preferred name, from now on. We're sorry! Love Mom and Dad!"
So I'm extremely happy about that!

How are you, aside from being tired and all, from work and such?

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • I'm glad that worked out :0
I'm alright? idk I just exist lately. I'm applying to a couple schools so I think I'll feel better when I hear back from them and can start planning out my future a bit more.

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • I see. What was it before Kikari? :o

      Posted by N64

    • It's been a lot of different things intermittently like burn bluefire, miss okami, inquisitor darklaw, cyan kikari I think? Idk I've had a lot of usernames over the years. Do you think I'm someone you knew?

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • Yeah, I just fear if you're one of those who don't want me to Like your posts in here.

  • "The current plan is to fly into Toronto and get to Ontario from there. I say concert but it's a more small scale performance than a concert implies, and it's in Kingston. I don't have a credit card, but if a debit card can work as well then that's good. Does it matter what bank my card is with or just if it's Visa or Mastercard?
Thank you so much for the advice :0 "

(Toronto is in Ontario btw :P)

I just googled Kingston and it's actually slightly closer to Ottawa than Toronto (but Toronto may still be the best airport in terms of price and whatnot), so you may want to look at flying to Ottawa if it doesn't add much more money or extra stops. Or look into flights that go into Kingston. Doesn't matter who you bank with for withdrawing from an ATM as long as it's Visa or Mastercard, but your bank might charge fees for withdrawing from a Canadian ATM so check with them first. Usually when withdrawing from a foreign ATM there's the potential for fees from your own bank, from Visa/MC, and from the ATM's bank - check with your bank/credit union to see what foreign fees there are (and also let them know your travel plans so that they don't suspect fraud when you use the card in Canada). If you're with a good credit union they won't have extra fees on top of those from Visa/MC (which is out of their control), or if you're with a major bank that partners with certain foreign financial institutions then you may be exempt from paying the Canadian bank's ATM fee.

I've never been to Kingston but a quick google shows that there are trains you can take from either Toronto or Kingston (I'm assuming you're not considering a rental car), and there's also an airport if you choose to fly there instead of taking a train from Toronto or Ottawa.

Posted by Viajero de la Galaxia

    • Haha well just goes to show you how little I'm familiar with Candian Providences and such.
Well Toronto is our fly in destination of choice because it's really cheap to fly there from an airport near us (like 300$ roundtrip), but it only flys to to Toronto. My friend also has a friend in Toronto proper who I'm hoping we can stay with. It'll still be at least a two hour drive from where we're staying but we're hoping for this to be a five day trip or so so I don't really mind the travel on one day.
I was definitely thinking about my home bank fees but not necessarily the fees from Visa or the foreign ATM. Thank you I'll keep that in mind and also try to get in contact with my bank.
Yeah, I'm not sure what the age requirement for renting a car is in Canada, but that sounds like a bit more of a hassle than we want to mess with, especially since we've never rented before. I have been on trains though and I will gladly look into that :0

    Hello! How are you?

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • Hi, its been a while hasn't it? I'm pretty good. How about you?

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • Yee.
I'm pretty much meh, right now. Glad you're doing well enough though!

You just checking in ZU to make a few posts and then check out?

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • I'm going to try to stick around this time I think. I like that there's a throwback skin so that makes navigating the site easier again.

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • Good to hear.

By the way, If I remember correctly, you were dating some gal online right? You'll be happy to know that this site now has a zero tolerance LGBT+ discrimination/harassment rule applied. And it also has a LGBT+ support thread in the GCC board. Go check it out if your interested.

Which boards do you hang around now?

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • Oh that's really cool! I don't remember the forum ever having much of a problem with harassment but it's still nice having that extra bit of solidarity.
I guess I've mostly been looking at General Chit-Chat and General Gaming.

      Posted by Creiddylad

  • yeeaah boi I see you're enjoying a "relaxed" final year too 8) Anyway, is it okay if I might ask what subjects you've taken? Sorry, I just get curious about this stuff haha

    Posted by Advance

    • Like what I am taking or what I have? I've taken all the art level available, math up to pre-calc, some chemistry, zoology, and anatomy, idk a lot of different classes. You?

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • Ah, I see! I was meaning what you take right now, but it's cool to hear what you've done. Your school system really is quite different to ours it seems. I think you guys break the subjects up and go into more detail with them. This year I'm doing philosophy, music, and biology. We learn some anatomy in biology, so that's why I get that idea.

      Posted by Advance

    • Oh okay, I got kind of confused since I think I said I only had Government and Economics in the post but then again i guess I only said I had one class. We''re required to have a certain number of credits in each subject and a certain number of electives, which is a pretty broad range of classes. Oh philosophy sounds like a cool class to have.

      Posted by Creiddylad

  • Concerning your post in the Negative thread. Have you considered see a psychotrist or anything of the sort about the sudden feeling of wanting to cry randomly? Or have you spoken to your parents about it? Hope your doing well otherwise, Kim!

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • I've talked to my pediatrician and my parents know. My brother suggested that I get counseling to supplement the medication I'm on bt I guess the idea just kind of scares me. I haven' treated it as a big deal it's usually over pretty quick. Thanks for asking though ovo and I'm doing pretty well besides that.

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • Good to know your not scared of speaking up about things like this, and that you're doing well otherwise. BTW I doubt it, But... I've been wondering if there's a English dub of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Is there? And if so, where can I find it on?

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • There actually is! the DVD's havent been officially released yet but people have been leaking the episodes. I know the first three are out dubbed and I've heard a lot of clips. It's a pretty solid dub overall

      Posted by Creiddylad

  • Hi, so do you know Sollux?

    Posted by N64

  • Hello! My name is Nafchacho! Many people call me nachos! I just wanted to say for awhile now that I love your avatar and sig! I am a huge fan of the mother series. I also saw some of your art and I just wanted to say that it was very lovely! I really do enjoy your work. (I saw some at this art thread) Oh my and your hair too, love that bleach on you! Damn, I must sound really creepy! I am sorry! I just happened to see you on the forums and simply stop by and compliment your work and say hey! ^_^

    Posted by Aquamentus

    • Hi Nachos ovo. Thank you it's always nice to see someone else who loves Mother. Ah and thank you for all the compliments and don't worry you're not sounding creepy.

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • Haha! Glad to hear! Btw, are you interested in the development of the unofficial mother 4 game? mother4game.com/ (I recommend, if you haven't to follow its progress, very exciting!)

      Posted by Aquamentus

    • Oh yeah I've been following Mother 4 for a while ovo. But on a similar topic have you ever read the fancomics Mother 2: Harmony and Mother 3: Memoria. They're really good and attempt to bridge the gap between the two.

      Posted by Creiddylad

  • Hey, when are you available? I can fight on the 6th at night, anytime on the 7th, the 8th in the morning preferably, and the 9th at night.

    • Thanks im currently going throught the anime and im on battle in eqypt right now. Part 2's still my favorite so far though

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • Part two was pretty amazing, I really liked the fights. How far in Battle in Egypt are you at?

      Posted by Pennington

    • Yeah I loved how clever and ridiculous Joseph in particular was. Uh lets see I saw some episodes today and the last one I watched was Anubis part 1. I would be farther along but I've been trying to watch all the episodes with my girlfriend

      Posted by Creiddylad

  • Well that's great dear <3 How are you liking your wii-u?

    Posted by MonjaElisa

  • Bop! Long time not a word. How's it going?

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • I havent tried pming yet but i think the new sites layout is probably more designed for them rather than this weird wall post system

      Posted by Creiddylad

  • That's game design at its finest, I think! When, like you said, a game leads you on to something and you don't even realize that it's where you were SUPPOSED to go or what you were supposed to find - it makes you feel like it was your OWN discovery. Oh yeah, I definitely like its exploration better than LoZ in that regard.

    @Lloyd - hahaha, me too!

Very, very nice! What a fantastic find. I'm pretty sure they could have sold that thing for way more than $40, but hey, not like we're complaining! And about the Gible, what in the world?! How in the world? It's a baby of destiny; it shall bring you many a victory...

    Posted by Claus

    • Well it looks like the forums are back. We lost a bit of our conversations because of the movement and im not sure how this new format works but yeah. Good to talk again after 3 months.

      Posted by Creiddylad

    • Hello hello there! Yeah, it's great to hear from you again after 3 months, haha. What a crazy thing... I'm not sure how I feel about the new forum set-up so far... everything seems kind of unnecessarily different and sometimes difficult to manage. But I'm not going to complain much because I know they've put a ton of work into it and I know they're still working on it!

      Posted by Claus

    • So how have things been with you? What's new these days?

      Posted by Claus

  • Yeah, you progress mostly in a set order, but like you said, there's a lot more to explore. I'm just floored by how HUGE this game is. I can hardly believe it's an NES game - the world is so big, there is so much text, so many sprites... it's crazy. I've been super impressed. I just met Lloyd and I love him.

So... you found out "today" meaning three days ago. How was it?

    Posted by Claus

  • Yeah, that's for sure - the story and characters and stuff like that definitely give off a "Mother" vibe. I just can't get over that open-ended world, though. I love it. ...Although I don't have all that much time to play it these days. I'm still in Mother's Day.

Very cool. I hope you get someone to buy your stuff! :p

Haha, there was a Greek festival the other day here, too. I don't know of any cool retro gaming stores close by though, unfortunately :p But hey, that's pretty awesome of your mom. Lemme know if it actually works!

    Posted by Claus

  • I can totally see that, yeah. It feels cheap, somehow.

Yeah, I can definitely see how Mother 1 would be jarring for someone who had played EarthBound first. I've been SO surprised by how different Mother 1 is... even though, you know, it's really similar in concept. Like, Mother 1 has so much exploration and stuff... the gameplay is surprisingly different from EarthBound.

Ahh, okay, I think I know what you're talking about with Redbubble now. Well hey, I hope this turns out to be a successful endeavor! What kind of stuff are you going to try to sell? Anything in particular?

But wait, wow, you got it?! The same one from the store? How did you end up getting it; your previous post mentioned that your mother was unsure about the decision at the time.

    Posted by Claus

  • Yeah, I don't see it as a SUBSTITUTE for play using the actual game, but it's certainly a great way to playtest, at least. Not to mention it's just so fast and easy to set up matches.

I'm excited for Duncan's Factory, just because I hear all kinds of terrible things about it. No spoilers, though! I'll letcha know when I get there. And yeah, it is a bit weird going back to the battle system without the HP scroller. That was one of my favorite aspects of EarthBound - it made for some intense moments in battle! But the non-scrolling method is like most other RPGs, so it's not too hard a transition.

First of all: what's redbubble? Second of all: What ever happened to possibly getting it for your birthday?

    Posted by Claus

  • Totally agreed. I've actually started using an online simulator recently called Pokemon Showdown. It's a great way to do some play test with team ideas, as you can instantly cook up the Pokemon you want to try and see how it does.

Yup, Bowser Jr.'s remaining 7 costumes are the 7 Koopalings. And yeah... they've found trophies for Mewtwo and Chorus Men and Ice Climbers and Wolf as well. Still though, I wouldn't say that writes the out of the picture just yet.

HAH! Wow, see, I didn't even GET the Franklin Badge the first time through! What was up with that?! Pippi never game it to me. I chose a different dialogue option this time, so I was surprised when she gave me the Badge. But I was excited to see it - AND I learned that "Franklin" comes from Benjamin Franklin. I had no idea.

So far it hasn't been all that hard at all. I've died once due to exploring areas with high-leveled enemies that I wasn't supposed to go to at that point, but all in all it's been pretty fair. I'll see what happens I guess.

I suppose that's possible, yeah - if they bought it and hacked in the fan translation themselves, they could sell it for some good cash. $40 seems relatively INexpensive for that, haha! If you do get it, you should compare it to the Tomato translation - see if it's the same one.
