  • Thoughts on Resident Evil 7?

I know its been awhile, but last we spoke more than year ago now haha, we were speaking in anticipation of Resident Evil 7. They certainly took an interesting turn from their normal story line.
Hope all is well by the way!

    • ehhh, it was pretty good IMO. I didn't get a chance to try the VR, but the basic game was actually pretty good and had a lot of twists and turns.

I will say that I miss the old format, but meh things change either for better or for worse I guess lol
In this case I think it's just a toss up.

I spent over a hundred bucks this time around.

I finally tried Terarria, and I think I have a serious addiction on my hands at the moment lol

      Posted by Bruce

    • Ah Terarria, that's 600+ hours I;m not getting back of my life. Seeing how Terarria is like 2 something at the moment, what else did you get?

      Posted by Moe

    • lelelel, I got it the night before last, and by 5 yesterday I had put almost a full day into it. There just this weird sense of freedom I get from mining that keeps me interested haha. (Plus the really unique crafting system which is just nuuuuuuts)

I got around 10-12 games I think. Do you wanna know specifics? like multiplayer? RPG?

  • Immature passive aggression in the retail business? What could you possibly mean?

    Posted by Winnie

    • As in condescendingly talking to me about how to do my job, or anything just in general.

  • So honest question: Why don't you like Dishonored? I'm curious because i don't see too many people look down on it so I was wondering what you didn't like about it?

    Posted by JP the Neurotic

    • In my honest opinion, respectfully; Dishonored strikes me as the game Bethesda produced only to try and fill the gap there was between Bioshock 2 and Bioshock infinite. Why? Because they're Bethesda and they're badasses.(Or so their attitude was perceived) When I first heard of the game, I will admit I was a little excited for a new IP by Bethesda since I've enjoyed practically every other series produced by them. When I first loaded up the screen it screamed "rehashed version of Bioshock, thats indefinitely worse" the gameplay was clunky, the framerate was bad, and the graphics were repeated from bioshock 2. Now Like I've said be fore, to be fair and unbiased, I tend to enjoy PC versions of games more than I do console versions. There is still a PC version that I have yet to try. So I can say this; The console version of Dishonered is a sorry excuse of a bioshock game to this day, however the PC version might be a little better if I were to try it. However that still remains to be seen, so my opinion of dishonored is very low at the moment.

      Posted by Bruce

    • Bioshock? Huh, I don't see it. Bioshock is an FPS and Dishonored is a stealth game--spefically its a spirtual successor to Theif. As for the framerate, I never had any issues on my 360 or ps3 so I can't really comment on that. And Bioshock is over-rated. ;P

      Posted by JP the Neurotic

    • Bioshock 'is' overrated. I never said it wasn't. So was Dishonored in my opinion (Everyone I knew, had it). It was overhyped plainly because Bethesda was creating a new IP. (And we all know how good Bethesdas IPs are) I'm an avid PC gamer, so framerates below 30-40 FPS are really noticeable for me. Which is why I refuse to play Elder scrolls games on console. Dishonered ran at a rough framrate of 25-30 FPS and if I was lucky, inside a building, 35. Terrible in my opinion, and inexcusable especially for an Xbox 360 game. (In which this system was particularly clever in the way it handled framerate for games with great graphics) I never played theif, but once again, I personally think it to be an overhyped game expected to be something amazing, in which it turned out to be something rather mediocre. (Watch dogs is another example) and I'm sorry, haha, but you can't tell me that this american 1920s era concept:s39.podbean.com/pb/3199f68d251…ploads/DishonoredPic2.jpg isn't similar to this American 1920s era concept: media1.gameinformer.com/imagef…nfinite/Coin%20Lutece.jpg

  • Despite them nerfing regular lighting spears in every way possible, rendering it useless basically, I'm really glad I gave Dark Souls 2 another shot. Keep in mind I play offline almost all the time. Unless I need help with a boss or something. I can't wait till I get the Crown of the Ivory King, which is the last DLC I need to complete the game. - - - They've added new features that you may have heard of. Like how fast you consume items or your invincibility frames when you dodge, all having to do with Agility and Adaptability. And dual wielding is much more fun in this one the first one. Cause it actually works this time. Provided you have 1.5 of the stat requirement for the weapons. So, yes. I would recommend giving it a go.

    • I'll be playing it on PC one of these days, I was just wondering because I played maybe 1-5 minutes of the original Dark souls, which in my opinion, was extremely hard.

      Posted by Bruce

    • It gets harder the more you die. As your HP goes down 5% of your total HP each time you die. Your character gets uglier and uglier the more you die. The only way to restore your HP is by using a Human Effigy, which can be found or dropped by enemies. In my opinion, DS2 is more fun do to all the new mechanics they added. And as far as I know You can't do a Level 1 run in DK2 like you could in Demon's Souls and DS1. But you can complete the game with out resting at a bonfire, or dying...

      Posted by Inarizushi Miku

    • You're HP stops going down after it reaches 50 percent of your total HP.

  • He was my sole reason for buying it. Just like HW.

Posted by A Link to my Heart

    • Me too actually, I beat that game in the first night I had it haha

      Posted by Bruce

    • Took me awhile longer than that but yeah. Unless you meant HW.

Posted by A Link to my Heart

    • No SC 2, I actually haven't really played HW. I need my own WiiU to do that, and I'm unfortunately absent of that right now.

    • It's from a FF:Crystal Chronicles game on the GCN. I'm a pretty big fan of that series, so why not? plus, I'm a pretty indecisive person when it comes to having a choice in something so my avatars and signatures may come randomly at times and may not be very popular. :P

    • I figured that 'your' topic, of Link being an avatar etc. should be one of the first episodes. I think Merkku also wants to join that one. Could we try recording it this week? :o

    • Btw what timezone are you in? I just realized it might be difficult to find a convenient time for the 3 of us.

    • Canny, theres only one problem I'm having so far with this. As much as I'd love to record with you this week, I don't have my PC :C. I'm super sad about it, because I really wanna get my youtube channel going. I really think I could benefit that web series as much as I could to. :C

  • Starting a new post because the nesting is so terrible! Latest posts are hidden... Anyway, I heard people say the Water Temple was easier in MQ, although I'm not sure about that myself. I beat MQ a month ago... and there were many hard dungeons. Even now there is an optional area in the Fire Temple that I haven't visited.... Good luck!

    Posted by Canyarion

    • cool! I'll check it out. I know, I wish they'd make these individual conversations like they were once before. oh yea, I just beat the forest temple last night, and its about time to go get ready for the fire temple. The temples seem longer in this version, and I'm more inclined to get stuck it seems as well. but we'll see, I just remember how long the water temple was.

      Posted by Bruce

    • Yeah there's a lot of backtracking, but that's true of all these MQ dungeons. Oh and hidden switches everywhere!!!

      Posted by Canyarion

    • I just completed the fire temple, and now that I think about I never actually got passed the Forest temple in previous attempted playthroughs. I really wish this is the way they had constructed the temples in the original game, because the fire temple was seriously fun. It took advantage of every Item I had and had so many epic mini-boss fights throughout the temple. This is what I wish for upcoming temples in TLoZ.
