• Hello, I was browsing and I saw you say this, "Typical cis-het male scum!"

I hope you don't mind me asking a question. what about that situation was typical for cis and hetero males? Let me preface this by saying I am working on very limited sleep, so I may have misread the article or whatever. From what I read, his experiences with rape made him scared of being loved, which makes sense considering the situation. Someone he trusted used him. Is it not fair to be worried that he would be used again? Another part of it was that he liked hiding behind his "mask" as he called it, because it gave him a sense of control over his life. Is that unfair?

These do not excuse any one's actions for mistreating another and should be criticized for mistrating another if done so, but we must remember he was a victim too.

I also have to ask, why do these necessarily relate to cis-hetero males? I can completely fathom someone who is not cis, not hetero, and not a male mistreating someone due to their past experiences.

• Liberal logic sure is something to behold: the people of Russia were literally starving and dying under the Tsar, but yeah let's forget that almost every aspect of life objectively improved for the working and poor populace on every level including healthcare, access to vital resources and shelter, and education because aristocrats were executed for their crimes against the people of the nation.

Did the children of the royal family deserve to be executed? No, but the adults of the family did, as well as every other aristocrat/bourgeois scumbag who was responsible for the suffering of the people of that nation, and it's revisionist liberal bullshit to suggest otherwise. The revolution absolutely needed to happen because all monarchies deserve to be destroyed to usher in prosperity for the people. And the same should happen to every rich motherfucker, corporate CEO, and haute bourgeois piece of shit when the inevitable collapse of capitalism occurs.

If there is a hell, then old money is burning to an infinite crisp within it, and new money is damned as well.

• Oh I see! Because killing the aristocrats was necessary to open the life force door barring the working poor from food, shelter, medicine, and education. No wait, I'm thinking of that stupid game mechanic in Jet Force Gemini.

But you know what really told me that you're full it, Andross? When your knee jerk response to the fact that Lenin murdered children was a half baked deflection instead of admitting revolution fucked up. There was absolutely no reason to kill people in cold blood other than catharsis and vengeance. By doing so with his Secret Police, Lenin set the terms by which it became acceptable for his successor to seize power in the eyes of his constituents and supporters. So what a surprise when that successor was even more of a prick than him!

But keep pretending that whatever short live prosperity the working poor might have enjoyed under Lenin before he croaked was meaningful. Keep stroking that hate-on for the bourgeois or liberal revisionist or whatever word you use for the people you want to see suffering for disagreeing with you. Keep pretending your wetdream of dragging them from their homes and filling them with lead totally wouldn't spiral into another mass murdering dictatorship.

TL;DR You're just as deluded as Bill and his faith in a nationalistic free market utopia. Both of you pretend the lives lost to your pursuit of that ideal is somehow a "necessary evil", or collateral damage, or sacrifice for the greater good.

Posted by Red Dingo

• Of course it was. In a revolution, counterrevolutionary elements must be purged, and the aristocrats were synonymous with the regime that the revolution was taking place against. They were not just counterrevolutionaries, but the very reason the revolution existed in the first place; the enemy.

History has validated the accomplishments of Lenin and his comrades, and most people knowledgeable about the events don't take such a simplistic "LENIN KILLED PEOPLE, SO HE IS BAD" view on history. So by all means, continue to speak from a place of utter ignorance. When the new revolution reaches its peak, and the forces of the workers and the oppressed meet the forces of the wealthy and the powerful on the battlefield, I hope you won't find yourself on the side that will be perishing alongside capitalism.

Posted by Andross

• I really don’t care what you hope for. I suspect that in your twisted mind, you want to kill me right now. Because that is your simplistic method of judgement when it comes to other people: those who are with you (whom you value) and those who are against you (whom you would kill without remorse). I doubt you actually care about the working poor, women, minorities...it’s all just a front for your own bloodlust.

Posted by Red Dingo

• >accuses someone of having a "twisted" mind, associates such with bloodlust

Nice ableism, pal. Good to see you're being honest about your views on mentally ill people and violence.

Posted by Andross

• Not all mentally ill people...just you.

• Why?

Posted by Red Dingo

• Sorry, I'm just getting back to this now.

You seem cool, Din is also cool :> It's also just fun to be in a clan. It's like a club. We talk about stuff that interests us, we play games together once or twice a month, and there's a support net for anyone who happens to need it. Also we have events coming up.

If you're unsure we just posted a Din Newsletter as an announcement which you can read to get a feel for the clan. If you just wanna be clanless though that's cool too!

• By "Korean refugees," do you mean Koreans that were living in Japan after the Japanese colonial empire was dismantled? I never thought of them as refugees (or are you talking about something else?).

Posted by Jehanne

• I'm not sure what a better term would be.

Posted by Red Dingo

• In English I think they're typically referred to as "ethnic Koreans." If we're talking about the same group of people, I wouldn't call them refugees.

• it doesn't sound like you understand quantum mechanics. particle entanglement and the nature of quantum information make consciousness existing outside the body a real possibility, presuming the brain is quantum. this a plausible hypothesis. sorry, but it's not pseudo.

• Hm.
First of all, the quality is considerably in excess of almost everything else in the fan genre. The actual physical sentences, sentence structure and the general style mean that even if the characters were irritating and the story trite it would still be enjoyable to read.
Happily though the characters seem very well defined. I obviously can't say I know them well because of how much work is physically present, but they all seem to have everything a good set of characters need- their own reasons for their actions, clearly set out personalities, and so on. They aren't just there to facilitate the movement of the story or to prop up Link.
As for the story itself... It works so far. Mysterious individuals, lost cities, potentially uneasy alliances... thumbs up! From what's up so far, it seems good. Of course it could all turn out to be a dream, or Link could secretly be M.night Shyamalan time travelling to the past, or we could break out the surprise yaoi or airdrop Link's long lost sister Mary Sue- I don't know exactly where it's going, so I can't pass an overall judgment, but thus far it really works!

But yeah, really good so far, keep it up.

• Doesn't sound terrible to me.

• Why would feeling empathy for victims be bad?

Posted by ibLeo

• Well it sounds to me like you don't mean it anymore

Posted by ibLeo

• You didn't say anything terrible. You said things I DISAGREED with; I'd be pretty arrogant to think that that makes them terrible.

Objectively speaking, I can see what you mean by "nobody deserves anything"; the universe is not good or bad, the universe just IS. So "deserve" is an artificial construct. Honestly, I agree with that much. However, I simply feel that the world seems like a warmer place when you assume that everyone deserves happiness. Is it completely without foundation in logic? Sure. But I like it. However that doesn't mean you have to.

•
Actually, you did just now in this thread. Tabby gave an example of a male victim being attacked by alleged feminists and expressed his belief that there needs to be a complimentary movement to achieve true equality of the sexes. You...refuted him by saying that male victims some how do not have it just as bad as female victims (which is unfounded) and dismissed an actual case of cyber bullying of a rape victim as mere trolling.
Hey, I love your posts in that thread man, but I am actually a woman. :'D Its my fault for not having the gender icon on my name, so don't worry. Just made me laugh a bit.
