  • I'm reading your TV show entry about the afterrealms right now, but I just wanted to quickly say that Sanctuary and Amanda Tapping are awesome. She's one of my favorite characters in Stargate, also.

    Posted by Guinea

    • Amanda Tapping is amazing! Sanctuary was such an awesome show, and I was pissed when SyFy axed it. I mean, sure, I guess that ending works as a series finale, but it's kind of anticlimactic. Ugh. (I was even angrier about SGU. That was left completely unresolved.)

Nice to meet another Sanctuary fan! Most people I mention it to haven't heard of it lol. And Sam Carter has always been my favorite Stargate character, even though I have more in common with Daniel Jackson!

      Posted by EzloSpirit

    • The ending to SGU was BULLCRAP!!! And Origins sure as heck didn't give the series closure! *sigh*

Every time Sanctuary came on I'd be like "idk what this is, sooo" then I saw Amanda and was like "OMG IT'S SAMANTHA CARTER!" lol

Daniel is my favorite character in SG btw haha

And even though Sanctuary was great and the ending was ok, I was kinda bummed out it got cancelled too. Same with Firefly. And TerraNova. And all the other awesome shows that should've continued. *sighs again*

    • Firefly is my #1 Show That Should Not Have Been Canceled. Sure, the Serenity movie was outstanding, but that universe was made for the TV format, and FOX totally screwed Joss Whedon over with that show. They treated him and his cast and crew so poorly with that broadcast schedule that it was almost like they were treating them like children. I hate FOX on so many levels, but the way they handled Firefly still ticks me off to this day.

  • Roses are red
Violets are more of a purple-ish color in my opinion but for the sake of this poem let's call them blue
If you were a Lvl. 12 Metapod
I'd level you up so you can evolve, and I'd always choose you!

  • Congrats Ezlo!!

  • How do you feel about the Ferengi episodes? Besides Profit and Lace, that's obviously terrible.

    Posted by Vulpes

    • I find the Ferengi obnoxious and basically representative of everything I hate about capitalism (though obviously a hyperbolic representation). Some of the episodes are fun, but most of them are bleh, as far as I can remember. I have a soft-ish spot for later-series Quark and his family. Wallace Shawn is simultaneously both the best and the worst casting decision for a recurring character in DS9 lol; his portrayal of the Grand Nagus is suuuuuper whiny and annoying. But at the same time...it's Wallace Shawn as a Ferengi!

      Posted by EzloSpirit

    • Ah, well, that's the point of the Ferengi, isn't it? They represent everything wrong with capitalism. I like some of the actual episodes, though—they're not necessarily Star Trek's finest hours, but they're comfortable to watch. Business as Usual is probably the best one, and that has only one other Ferengi.

      Posted by Vulpes

    • It's been about 5 years since I last saw any of them, so I'll have to come back with a more recent opinion when I see some of them now!

      Posted by EzloSpirit

    • Are you just going to run straight through the series?

      Posted by Vulpes

    • Probably! I mean, I usually prefer to go in order anyway, but it's a little more important in DS9, given the various story arcs.

      Posted by EzloSpirit

  • I missed your B-day... darn...

Well, here's a life-size Blue Pig Ganon statue. *gives present*

    Happy late-B-day!

  • Happy (late) birthday, Ezlo! I hope it was incredible!

    Posted by twii

    • Thanks, Twi! It was not incredible, but it could have been twelve times worse, so I can't complain!

  • It's Eden's birthday? Hope it was good one, and the rest of it is too!

  • Happy birthday!!! I hope it's awesome. :)

    • Thanks, Realm! Can't exactly say it's been awesome, but I've had far worse birthdays, so I'm not complaining!

  • Happy birthdaaaaay Ezlo ^_^

  • Ezlo how’s it going?!

    Posted by Winnie

    • Hi, Winnie the Dinnie! It's going rather well! How've you been?

      Posted by EzloSpirit

    • Pretty good! Haven’t seen you around as much, anything new and exciting going on? Maybe I haven’t been on as much though so it could just be me haha

      Posted by Winnie

    • I've been around quite a bit, but I haven't posted quite as much in recent days.

I helped staff my school's anime convention this weekend, which was an incredible experience, even more so than last year! That's probably the biggest thing in my life at the moment. How about you? Anything cool happening on your end?

      Posted by EzloSpirit

    • That's so cool! Any animes you've gotten into lately? I recently started Fairy Tale and found out there's almost 300 episodes!

      Posted by Winnie

    • I started the second (full) season of The Seven Deadly Sins a few weeks ago, but I quickly lost interest after they incorporated the stereotypical anime dialogue about semantics in the form of "power level" breakdowns. That stuff drives me up a wall; I much prefer show to tell. Other than that, I really haven't watched much anime in a rather long time. I was in the middle of the first Naruto series about a year ago. And I'm in the middle of rewatching Ouran High School Host Club, Death Note, and Dragon Ball (original) after I got them on DVD. I was also early on in DBZ a couple years ago, but I dropped that because I found it to be moody, endless-fight-scene trash compared to its fun, light-hearted predecessor. I did see the film Your Name. at the convention yesterday, and that was delightful! Tugged at the heartstrings.

I watched Fairy Tail a while ago. Really fun series if you're into fantasy and magic. Doesn't go overboard with action sequences and has a cast of really interesting characters. I finished watching the first series, which ends abruptly in the middle of a story arc, which boggles my mind to this day, and I haven't gotten back into it since, unfortunately. But it's definitely worth sticking through because most of the arcs build on each other...and also Happy is in it!

  • Will you marry me?

  • I have a feeling that we'll get the release date for Animal Crossing tomorrow and everything will be right with the universe.

I'm so hyped I could cry.

    • YOU GOT MY FRIGGIN' HOPES UP! *weeps very noisily*

      Posted by EzloSpirit

    • What?

      What?!

What exactly... I haven't seen the Direct.

Are you... telling me ... there was NO ANIMAL CROSSING NEWS?!

      Posted by Guinea

    • No no no no no NOPE that can't be it.

      Posted by Guinea

    • Nope. I'll save you the delayed grief and tell you that now. There's some interesting stuff in there, but the AC stuff is literally the only reason I fast-forwarded my way through most of that video. No Pokémon, either, but that was a longer shot.

      Posted by EzloSpirit

    • OKAY! The Link's Awakening remake. All is forgiven.

  • Congrats on your win Ezlo! You deserve it!

  • When the next Writing Contest starts I'm going to tag every active writer I know of in a PM and try to get the ball rolling.

The Writing Contest is so awesome, I wish more people would get involved.

    Posted by Guinea

    • Don't worry; I tend to get most of the submissions in the final week. I've already gotten a second one, so this contest will proceed no matter what.

      Posted by EzloSpirit

    • Yay! Thanks again for doing the contest. It's my favorite social activity on ZU.

      Posted by Guinea

    • Aww, that's so cool! Happy to be of service!

      Posted by EzloSpirit

  • So what’s wasted time about?

    Posted by Ruki

    • Not sure yet! The title refers to the wasteland setting. Maybe there will be a monster encounter. Maybe someone will need help getting home.

There's a kajillion directions this could go in, and I'm open to them all. (Probably lol.) I want this to be a story led by more than just myself.

      Posted by EzloSpirit

    • Alright I’ll figure out which character I’ll use. Unless you have a preference. My list of characters are in my sig but are in short:
      1) A team of a princess with powerful, uncontrollable fire powers, her ghost of a twin sister, an overprotective ice knight and asshole baby dragon.
      2) A bastard prince who is a stepford smiler and his wolf bro.
      3) A telepath with dual personalities and ability to control dreams.
      4) A bounty hunter who wants to save his mother from cancer. Young, scrappy and constantly over his head.
      5) Bounty hunter older sister and a prostitute.
      6) A demigod of Cronus trying to find Pandora’s Box to keep it from being opened again. Has limited control over time. Travels with Athena and Aphrodite.
      7) Cassandra of Troy but has been reborn and works as an assassin and thief.
      8) Digimon fan character
      9) Fallen archangel and demon hunter. Do not trust her to cook. Burns ceral.
      10) A Shishi and adorable. Typically can be found with an azdaja who is a chaotic evil being by nature but this playboy asshole is trying really hard to be lawful good.
      11) An Auror with a superhero complex.
      12) A half elf with an eye of truth and a desire to just die.
      13) A Roma bard with a strong belief in God and no sense of direction.
      14) A kitsune who after being enslaved and tortured for hundreds of years enacts his own twisted karma against humans. Enjoys mental torture.
      15) A half-zombie from Civil War era New Orleans. Racist and homophobic, she is cursed to remain stagnant until the curse keeping her as such is broken allowing her to grow old and die. Which is unfortunate because she’s someone who genuinely tries to help even while being an asshole about it.

      Posted by Ruki

    • Wow, that's quite a selection! I don't have a preference either way!

      Posted by EzloSpirit

    • I have more characters too who aren’t in ToC xDD But wasteland … hmm … might be interesting if it’s a bad end timeline. Gives me more reason to fix I think Aphrodite.

Also it might be easier to talk about the plot with a discussion thread in the RPD.

      Posted by Ruki

    • Creating the thread now!

Before I forget to ask again, what does "OWP" stand for? I looked around for a definition, but I couldn't find one.
