• I used to be a heavy Starcraft/Brood War gamer years ago. I got tired of keeping up with hardware upgrades for PC gaming so I haven't played SC2. I do kind of keep up with the story and online tactics as I've always loved RTS games.

I'm putting together a mafia game. I thought since you played, other ZUers may as well and the Starcraft theme would fit perfect with what I want to do. However, since it's not popular it'd be a bad idea

• Hey dude. I know you're a fan of Starcraft so i wanted to ask if it's popular with the ZU community at all?

• Heh, classes suck most times :P

I got it today!
I'll be looking forward to facing you on the Battlefield!

• I enjoyed reading the Mafia hub. I liked your performance there, as well, and as someone else said - kudos to you for managing a very demanding role (time-wise as well).

Good point on the tell - so you're saying that you should have been a suspect because you were the alternative lynch to 'Pika, right?

Also, your Professor X claim was particularly funny to me, because I had it in the back of my mind myself. Being a part of the precinct, I had strong reason to believe that it would be an unused role, since I knew the two townie cops and there is no way he would be in the Mafia, being a good guy. My motivation for a fake claim would be to divulge Mason info without blowing the cover of the true cops, but of course, I never needed to do it and the idea sort of left me with Fluttershy's death. I don't know if I would have ever followed through with it, but this being my first Mafia game, it was running through my mind a bit obsessively. :P All the same, knowing to expect the unexpected in these games, I still didn't know whether or not to suspect you (perhaps there really was a telepath of sorts outside of the precinct as a second layer of defence), so once again I salute your convincing posts. xD I've learned a lot from them.

Ah, I see. I agree that the community here is pretty cool - it seems everyone helps hold each other together to a degree that I haven't seen before in a forum (although it's the first time I've joined one, so take that observation as you will). You seem like quite the Smash player - are you excited for the new versions? I only play casually, but know enough about the game to appreciate its complexities.

As for how I joined, I was aware of the site from various Zelda things I had looked up, and stumbled across it again in April. I was reading through some of the news (the Majora's Mask opera had a featured article that caught my eye) and then decided to check out the forum. After clicking around for a bit, I figured I might as well join and see what it was about, and although my free time is somewhat limited, have stuck around since.

• This Mafia game was a good learning experience for me as well. You can weigh a lot of factors about the sake of the game, but I think I would have played it the same way. You did what you could to give your side the best advantage possible, and the point of the game is to win... I don't think the other side would exactly go easy either. :P I say kudos to you for making it as far as you did, and your dramatic shake-up of the game was your reward.

I was also a little surprised when you revealed that I was the only townie to vote for you. I figured there would've been two. I learned a lot from that moment especially.

Well, I'm still rather green [insert Beast Boy and Farore puns here], so I'm still exploring ZU and finding my niche here. I came more recently to Community Central and began with General Zelda, New Members, and Forum Games. I've been more active over the past couple weeks, so maybe you'll see me around. :)

What sections do you usually frequent?

One layer? What does that mean?

• I have a lot of ideas to spitball with you too, but I really think I should speak to the Z mods first :P I'll keep you updated!

• Hey table! First, off I think this is a great idea and I'm really interested in seeing it happen. It seems like something which would be more appropriate (and successful) in the Zelda section, so I'll bring it up with the Zelda mods and see what they think!

In regards to the race itself, I think speedrunning the whole game in one session is a bit too much of an undertaking, especially for multiple people at once. That being said, I remember Hombre de Mundo and EternaLegend made a couple of videos for ZUTV (ZU's YouTube channel) where they raced with picture in picture footage to see who could become an adult in OoT first. I don't recall whether or not the series finished, but it was interesting to watch and I think a shorter goal would be more ideal for this kind of thing. What do you think?

Anyway yes, I'll bring this up with the Z mods and see what they think about it!

• Short answer is yes, but I'm running out the door! I'll PM ya later tonight.

• HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! ;)

• I really regretted killing you. It would have been brilliant to have you alongside me through that game. I guess I realised my error and decided to just play everyone as best I could. You were a better speaker than I was, a much more analytical mind. I suppose I decided to just act like a motherfucker to turn the game around.

A pleasure, buddy.

• oh wow weird, you weren't a werewolf. Pretty sure the janitor did something.

Okay wow in that case it was just a gut feeling and I was a shitty player. In any case, great work from ID.

Posted by gamtos

• interestingdrug was so obviously the godfather it wasn't even funny anymore. His roleclaim was brilliant but he stopped pretending to even be a good player towards the end. You actually helped me find that one out; you were a werewolf cleaned up by a janitor. Everyone knew that, yet ID didn't correct me at all. He just wanted anyone but himself dead and would jump on any convincing bandwagon.

And I paved the shimmering way.
