They had a redwall jeopardy question!
Terrific! What was it?
What snake was asmodeus poisontooth? ...was basically the question I think it described something about the attribute. Couldn’t really hear the rest because I was banging on the desk loudly because I was so excited redwall was actually relavent for 5 seconds >_>
I think that's the second one in the past year, actually. There was one a while back asking either who Brian Jacques was, or how many books were in the series. I remember because my brother texted me about it and he was shocked when I told him how many books there are lol.
That’s great. Giving jeopardy major props for caring about the sanctity of redwall
LOL! Sometimes Savage Winnie makes an appearance!
Oh boy you even have a name for her XD
haha JP came up with it, how’s that lake effect treating you this year?
Let's go to the circus!
I prefer the zoo, personally.
In that case... we'll go to the country fair! It's like a mixture of both!
I sure do love fried dough, candy apples, birch beer, cotton candy, and other sugary things that I shouldn't eat.
We're off! *jumps out the window*
yo! your link in the war room is kaput (for me at least). Thought you might wanna know, it sounded interesting
Ahh Redwall! Mossflower is top 3 along with Pearls of Lutra and Marlfox. Also love Triss and Mattimeo. But it's so hard to choose!
Oh God I fight every day with myself on what's in my Top 5 or whatnot haha. Sometimes, just to be easy, I say the three Martin books are the best in the series, because all three are awesome. I think Legend of Luke is one of the most underrated books. I also really love The Bellmaker and Pearls of Lutra. But Salamandastron was fantastic, and I'm currently enjoying the heck out of Rakkety Tam. So who knows, I'll never decide what are my favorites lol.
I agree with you about Legend of Luke. My old copy which has been misplaced was so worn half the cover had ripped off and it had food and life stains on almost every page. I used to hide out in my bathroom as a kid and read in there for an hour because my mom hated how often I would read them XD
Perfect hiding place hahaha. I owe my love of reading to Redwall. I didn't like reading as a kid, but after watching the cartoon of Redwall and Mattimeo when I was 11, I decided to check out the books. I became obsessed with the series, and started reading other books more regularly.
Redwall definitely got me more into reading as well. Honestly have read these books more than anything else out there, except maybe Harry Potter...
*gives Mirren a copy of A Link to the Past in mint condition for the SNES*
I have no idea why I warranted such generosity, but I will graciously accept it.
Thank you so much!! The Sabres are playing tonight, hopefully they win!
I'm going to see Aquaman tonight, so I won't be able to watch the game, but it'd be awesome if they beat the defending champs!
Let me know how it is! I’ve been looking forward to that movie forever!
Just got out of the theater. It was a blast! Super fun movie.
Ahhh okay now I wanna see it! Can’t wait to see Khal Drogo in merman form!
For the record, I didn't ignore this out of spite. It's just that the last time you posted a random emoji to my wall and I inquired about it, you left me hanging. PEOPLE DON'T FORGET.
It sounds like I need to give OoS another playthrough!
Yeah I can't put my finger on it, but for some reason I really enjoy the game. I've always enjoyed the Oracles, though. I feel they're two of the most underrated games in the series. It might be because of how much I like Holodrum and Labrynna, and just the stories, in general. The Mangas were my favorite adapations before Twilight Princess's came out.
I liked them both a lot too but I've only played through them once each. Ages, then Seasons. The stories were definitely interesting and fleshed out. Did you find playing Ages vs Seasons first had any impact on which you enjoyed more?
I played Seasons first, then Ages. I remember preferring Ages as a lad, but that's changed over time.
Hmm. I played Ages first, then Seasons. Dunno, I'll really have to play through again, my memory on the games is fairly spotty anyway xD
Wow it’s Mirren from The Missing Link
Hey, I just read the Price of Courage. Great piece. That's a beautiful and thought-provoking way to look at the series, and probably the reason why it sticks with me so many years later, even as my tastes change. Thanks for that perspective!
Thank you! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Yo, nice job with your feature article.
Thanks buddy, much appreciated! I know you wrote some very thought-provoking pieces earlier this year, so I need to finally sit down and give those a read. I'm sure they're great.
Mirren you get your face out of the Negative thread, it’s bad juju for our team. What team? The Bills Mafia of course. Chin up and remember at least GoT didn’t get... oh wait.. and Spyro... maybe you’re onto something..
Today sucked. -_- I'm going to bed.
Oh no what happened?!
Just a little overwhelmed right now. This was one of those weeks where I was hoping to get a lot of writing and editing done for my books, in addition to productive drawing sessions, coverage for the pop culture website I write for, etc. and in very short time, I ended up being roped into some obligation or event almost every night this week. Not sure I'll be able to get a lot of my personal projects done unless I go hermit-mode on Saturday, which is very likely, at this point. I just have a very loaded schedule to close out the year, and I'm not sure at the moment how I'll handle it all. I need to better organize myself and make some serious improvements to my time management skills.
You’ll get through it! You’re smart and NY people are fast-paced. If anyone’s got this it’s you.
I’ve got something a bit similar going on, and at the moment I’m just trying to take it one day at a time. And keeping a planner and crossing things off my list helps!
Thank you It's much appreciated. I try to plan things with a little more structure, now, so if I make a habit of that I might just figure this out.
HEY! How's MHGU coming along for you?
I'm really enjoying it! I honestly wasn't a huge fan of the original Gen, but G Rank is making all the difference for me, this time. I just beat Atahl-Ka last night for the first time. Still got a ton of quests I want to do, though.
Likewise! Maybe play tonight?
I actually just got done with a pretty long session lol. But I'm down to play any night the rest of the week except Friday!
I'm around now if you want!
I'm down for any time tonight before 8:20 EST.
where is 2003 master race
It sounded a little elitist xD. Also the ZU Remember When thread reminded me of the days when someone (i.e, me) had to post whore their way to a custom rank.
Oh wow. I semi remember that.
I can’t even read your whole custom rank now so I idk what it even says XD (is that what it says)
Wait. Seriously? Son of a...
It's supposed to say "I remember when you had to have 1000 posts to type something here". Can a CR be so long that it doesn't entirely show up? Because I've had this for like, a month, bahahahaha.
Yeah they can - if you look at it on your profile it says “I remember when you had to...”
and the rest is veiled in mystery.
Omfg this game is a nightmare. And it’s IN THE OP! Come on guys!
I mean, it's preseason, and Shady isn't playing, so I'm not freaking out...but that offensive line has me legitimately concerned. Poor Allen was swarmed every play.
Seriously! And this is how rookie QBs get ruined forever. I just hate it don’t get me started. Also I’m at the hotel gym and there’s like 4 other dudes here, and I’m hoarding the remote on my bike so they can’t escape watching this nightmare! Bahaha!
Two more touchdowns come ON.
Happy birthday, Mirren. Hope its a good one.
Happy birthday, Mirren-sama! Hope you are having a wonderful day!
I am! Exhausted from a very late night for a good friend's wedding, but enjoying the day nonetheless haha. Thank you!
Jeff, in a clan Were you ever in a clan back in the day, because I always remember you being clanless?
I was originally in Farore, back when sadida, bobslob, andi, Mr. Wonderful, Irish Samurai, etc. were all in there. Like I said to Winnie, I have no idea why I eventually "left". I just never bothered to retake the test. You can call it the ultimate apathy haha
Why aren’t you in a clan? And by that I mean why aren’t you in Din?
Because I'm definitely Farore, at heart.
Hahahaha. I was in Farore way back in the day, and I cannot tell you for the life of me what happened that I "left". I can only assume that the clan rosters got jacked up during a forum reset, and I just never bothered to rejoin. I've contemplated taking the Clan Test again, maybe your prodding finally gets it done for me xD
Sending it to you now, no pressure just for funsies
It would be cool to do an Upstate ZU meetup! A lot of ZUers are there actually, pick your favorite bar haha
I've got a few of those haha. I like the way you think!
Oh I totally stalked the hell outta this weeks later well whoops
But then I also agree with Winnie
This is a perfectly justified reason to stalk.
Thanks for nominating me as most inspirational.
It's my pleasure. I hope you win!
Oh God what did I do?
Ok you seriously can't post a random emoji to my wall and then leave me hanging
Congrats on your book!!
Is it a series? Can I get it on Kindle?
Yes and yes haha. It's a trilogy, with the second book coming out hopefully in October/November, and the third book coming out around this time next year.
Feeling inspired to write some articles for the site?
I have a few ideas I've wanted to do for a while, but I've kept putting them off. I need to get on those. I'm about to have a crazy couple of weeks what with a novel being released, my city's comic con, and E3 coverage for the website I work at, but I'll definitely put something together this summer.
Are you going to E3? Or just reporting it
I won't be going, myself, but other members from my team will be attending. I swear it, SOMEDAY I'm meeting up with you and the ZU crew at an event.
Come to a PAX convention and there’s usually a few ZU staff doing a panel nowadays
Oh man my little writing padawon all grown up.
Dammit I've missed you, man hahaha. How the frig have you been?
Mirren, I am slowly remembering so much from the past. But wow I want to say like you are all grown up. Ok that sounded crazy! I didn’t realize I was gone throughout my entire training for my job these past 5 years. If ZU has an app I think I would use it more. I lurke a lot of Facebook. Blame that.
Hahaha nothing wrong with that! Admittedly, I've fluctuated between being absent and being active around here for most of the last several years; at one point I was gone for an entire year, or close to it. Life happens. And, I know, some days even I'm amazied that I'm now 27 (28 in July) haha. I hope things have been simply wonderful for you. I wish I had connected with more people from here over the years on other social media places like Facebook. To say the least, I have a lot of fond memories chatting with you and everyone else
Hello! You had asked what I am studying in University. I am Majoring in History and Political Science
Awesome! I was very partial to History courses when I was in college, so I'll definitely give you two thumbs up for your major choices. There's a lot of different fields you can head into with a History or Political Science degree. I wish you the very best of luck!
