  • I just started playing the Simpsons Hit and Run, have you ever played it?

    Posted by Pennington

  • I've bought before, but this will be my first time selling my house (and then trying to buy again). Any tips or wise words from someone who also just went through it?

    Posted by Kae

    • Of course!

      Some advice to start.
Try to get in the spring or fall market (spring is the best time). The market will slow down in the summer (rapidly in July and August) and also in November/December. You'll likely get the quickest sale and best offer in the peak times.

For staging the house, less stuff you have the better it looks in pictures. I rented a storage locker and just loaded it with all our crap so our house looked nice and empty. People can better visualize how they would live in a place when it's much emptier. Plus it's less you have to pack come time to move.

If you're thinking of painting, focus on painting dark rooms with lighter colours. Makes them look bigger.

Feel free to message as you go through the selling process if you have any more questions.

    • Thank you! While we have been ready we were waiting until the beginning of the year as we heard that December was a poor time. I imagine prior to spring isnt ideal...but yeah. We were considering a storage locker so thats good to confirm we are barking up the right tree.

Really appreciate it, will reach out as we make moves.

  • Congrats on your house!

    • Thank you, he's 4 months and 9 days old today. And on that same page in the Scrapbook, I posted other two videos of him. His voice is getting more audible in those videos.

      How old are your children?

      Posted by N64

    • 7 and 4. The oldest is in Grade 2 and my youngest in preschool.

    • That's wonderful Hoju! Which is the autistic one? Anyway did you find the ones I mentioned where Adam 'spoke'?

      Posted by N64

    • My son is autistic. Fortunately he is high functioning and doing very well academically in school. His struggles are more social.

I'm just watching the vid now of Adam waking grandpa. Once they start making noise they'll never stop ;)

  • Hello Hoju,

How has your Thanksgiving thus far been?
Did you do any of the cooking?
I hope that you and yours have had a very Happy Thanksgiving.

I just relaxed, watched some movies and TV, and browsed the board.
Earlier I went to a community Thanksgiving lunch.

Soon I think I might get some sleep.

    Take care, Hoju.
    Tead.

    • Our thanksgiving in Canada was last month so the last couple days has been mostly business as usual. Just a little extra shopping since Black Friday sales have been starting occur in Canada now.

My mother in law did make a yummy Turkey last month which I happily gobbled up :)
My wife makes a really good Turkey as well. Perhaps I'll need to bug her to make one soon.. haha.

      Posted by Hoju

    • Sounds like a good idea, I love turkey!
Sounds like you had a fun time.

      Are you ready for Christmas?
Going to your Moms again? Do you have a large Family?

I will be here alone for Christmas.
I want to see The Last Jedi so hopefully it will still be playing then, or perhaps I can just go sooner rather than later.

I am hoping to return home this Spring for a visit then I will return here afterwards because I will be here for about a year longer.

I hope to see you around, Hoju.
      Tead.

    • Hey Tead,

We're really changing it up this year and we're taking the family to Disneyland for Christmas. Usually we bounce between seeing my family or my wife's family but we'll be down along with my mother-in-law and father-in-law in a hopefully sunny California.

We're probably going to see The Last Jedi on our vacation at the theatre in downtown Disney. My son loves Star Wars so I think he'll have a blast.

  • Hey Hoju,

It has indeed been a while, how have you been?
What have you been up to?

    Playing any interesting games recently?

    I will see you around,
    Tead.

    • Hey Tead,

      Not doing too bad.
Mostly just doing the work and raise a family routine. Looking forward to the long weekend and hoping to get lots of gaming in.

Been playing mostly GTA5 and Gears of War 4 lately.

      Posted by Hoju

    • No wonder. I am older than you.

      Posted by N64

    • Older than me? About time I found a forum member older than me :)

      Posted by Hoju

    • You made that sound sad.

      Posted by N64

    • haha, i hope i didn't make sound too bad. So many people here are the age I was when I first joined the forums making me feel like an old man here.

  • Hello Hoju,
How are you? What have you been up to?

    Tead.

    Posted by Tead

    • Hi Tead, I'm doing good, how about you?
I'm just enjoying my Sunday so far. Gaming on and off and playing with the kiddos.

      Posted by Hoju

    • I am fine, I suppose. Some stress with me today, though nothing that I cannot handle. I will likely go for a nice walk soon.
      What game are you playing?

I hope to see you around,
      Tead.

      Posted by Tead

    • Playing some Final Fantasy XIV. I stopped playing a while back then decided to resub. It's fun game to relax to and play.

      Posted by Hoju

    • Ah, it does sound awesome. I have watched some videos on it as well. It has been a while since I have played any Final Fantasy titles other than Mobius, whish I currently do not care much for. It just seems to be not much more than walking around and fighting everywhere you go.
Do you have a favorite Final Fantasy game?

      Tead.

      Posted by Tead

    • That's a toughy. Probably a tie between FFVI and FFVII.

      Posted by Hoju

  • Wow, you're a pretty old member o_o Thought you were a newbie at first lmao. (Nice to meet you though :3)

    Posted by FroyoDragon

    • Nice to meet you too :)
Haha yep, I'm probably one of the older folk here. I first signed on here back in 2002, the year I graduated high school. Was a little active in the beginning then kind of stopped posting on forums for a few years.

I think a sense of nostalgia has brought me back here as this is one of the few remaining communities that still exists. Many other sites I used to post at no longer exist.

      Posted by Hoju

  • Always good to see you on here Hoju, even if you are a lurker!

    Posted by Winnie

  • Happy Birthday! :D

    Posted by MarioMaster1337

  • Yeah, but they only spent a few minutes in Canada. I kinda think they weren't planning on going to Canada till after they had started the episode.
I still thought it was funny, though. Canadian graffiti, "Follow the Rules", "Both our viewers must be very excited!", and the ending basket ball joke. I didn't really get the joke about American currency, though.

    Posted by Yeraza_Bats

  • Yeah, the whole show is a bit too far out these days. I like the later seasons the best. Basically 6-10. They are easily the best, in my opinion.

I love all the episodes where they visit other countries. They are always funny. I like the joke in the episode when they're in England when Homer is praying, and says "If you help me escape, I swear I'll spell color with a u, and use the metric system, right down to every cubic...Oh, I can't! I's all so stupid!" Makes me laugh every time.

Did you see the episode when they visited Canada? What did you think of it?

    Posted by Yeraza_Bats

  • No problemo! Sometimes I go a month without visiting.

Haha, he is great. I love the dance he does around Good Homer's grave.
I also like how they brought the joke back with "You can't make friends with sal-ad!"

    Favorite episode, season character?

    Posted by Yeraza_Bats

  • I thought you did^^ Most speakers of English write put an a at the end of Valhall :)

I like that song as well. I only have one album, myself, though. With Oden on our side.

  • You don't, by chance, listen to Amon Amarth? :)
