Fact: Toon Link > Young Link
That's a tough one for me.
Hi, do you still keep in touch with Teekay or Agent Orange?
Unfortunately I don’t keep in touch with anyone from ZU outside the boards
It's okay. I am sorry for bugging you about them.
Haha there is no need to apologize.
I use to keep up with a few but once many people stopped using AIM i lost contact with them.
I've gotta thank you for making that whole reunion thread! Its super cool!
You’re welcome! It’s awesome. Thanks for contributing!
If you liked Skyrim, I recommend Oblivion and Morrowind, Skyrim's famous predecessors. I found Skyrim to be really convoluted compared to those. Oblivion is my personal favorite of the three.
I heard a lot of good things about Oblivion! I will have to check it out next.
What mad Skyrim convoluted for you? The gameplay of the story?
The story! It was complex but at the same time drew upon classic tropes. And there were way too many subplots that were interconnected. I did absolutely love both the Dragonborn and Dawnguard questlines, though.
Also I hate how sprinting depletes stamina in Skyrim. I mean, it's more realistic, but it makes exploration much more of a chore than it should be. In Oblivion, sprinting just makes your stamina recover much more slowly, which is bad because lower stamina affects how much damage you can deal at the moment.
Morrowind also has a complex plot with very rich worldbuilding, but it doesn't have a bazillion interconnected plotlines like Skyrim's. I did find it a little hard to follow at times, though.
Oblivion's main quest is pretty straightforward as far as complexity, but the scale is awesome. I'm also a sucker for the Cyrodiil world map. Also, Patrick Stewart and Sean Bean.
Sorry I didn't see this message until now! I would have to agree that the story can be convoluted but in a way it makes me jealous as a zelda fan. I used to be obsessed with zelda theorizing in the past and I always yearned for a zelda game that was very rich story line wise.
I can't until the next major release. Sadly it won't be for another 3-4 years.
Welcome back, post again too, mi amigo
Thanks Demon Fox! Did we cross paths back then? Sorry but my memory is a bit fuzzy.
Sadly, no (if you mean on your side). I was a lurker, reading the forum as Guest. Decided to register as member on June 2008, my username was Link on!
Crap, I forgot all about this. Tell you what, if I finish all the 3D Zelda games this summer like I play to, I'll make a thread about why I hate OoT. That way I can make more accurate statements.
I'll type something up in a bit. Basically, I didn't have fun playing it.
I think only the second one is missable.
If you don't get the Heart Container from the Helmaroc King, it will be waiting in front of the gates. And you can destroy the walls in the Earth Temple using Light Arrows, in case you missed any.
Not sure about the room, where Medli needs to stand on a switch. I've always wondered about that myself.
Thanks man. heh. It's all in good fun.
HerOfTime: Yep! I posted it here: Zelda fan survey - responses appreciated! : zelda
I'm not super familiar with Reddit, so I'm not sure if there would have been a better way to do it or not.
Yeah but it could have had unintended consequences. Just my conjecture, lol.
Maybe Link's wish on the Triforce warped reality.
Alttp does lol. Who knows what they were thinking. I think there's a fourth timeline split lol.
I think HH was done just bc of fan demand. It's weird too bc they changed dialogue about ganon by sahasrahla that referenced agahnim as well.
I write for My Nintendo News as well and got a copy through them. The only problem with the "something happens in between" is the fact that it presents ganon gaining the triforce, OoT sages/descendents from the sages that sealed the Triforce seal Ganon and the triforce splits forever as one cohesive event. That's why I don't think something happening in between OoX and ALBW is possible. It is trying to tell the story of OoT or ALttP, either doing a major retcon or god knows what and meshes them together from my observation. all i did in the article was pose the question about the inconsistencies but it is a fallacy to assume something happened in between because we have no evidence. all we have evidence for is what we know from the other games and it is very contradictory.
The game has TONS of thinking puzzles. Unfortunately, not so much in the character development part. If they combined parts of this with Skyward Sword, you'd have the perfect Zelda game. I haven't played LoZ's Second quest lol, but, the hero mode is really really hard. Quadruple damage. Hearts do drop, thank god, but you start the game with 3 hearts. you get hit once, you're down to two. One more, you're dead. I didn't get to Lorule on Hero Mode but I know it's even more brutal.
Irene, well...she's actually the one NPC I really liked. Maybe not character development but you do get to interact with her more than any of the other characters you save. I felt more of a connection with ALttP characters. Like the kid with the flute. Or the priest who is killed halfway through the game. I even feel more of a connection with the maidens than with the sages of this game, as when you save them they actually share some pretty interesting things. And the presentation in ALttP, like the prologue, is superb. Almost nothing beats it.
I just hate how the backstory is a mishmash of OoT and ALttP and makes no sense in the DT. I wasn't going to base a review on that fact lol and it's an amazing Zelda game no doubt, but damn I just don't get it.
This was the first review I've ever done for a game in a formal setting. Nintendo sent me a copy a week ago last Friday.
I hope you're enjoying the game and enjoyed our coverage leading up to the game's release! I actually had the chance to review it for My Nintendo News so I've been playing for a week, lol.

Sorry, there's nothing on my blog about ALBW yet and I won't post any impressions on my blog before the game's release.
Sorry I can't be more help, but you're welcome
Uuuhh... I haven't either xD Probably someone edited the poll as a joke, though I can tell you for sure it wasn't me.

YOU GET AN FR!!!
Yes, I have the PAL version. But the NTSC version should work fine, too. There are several reports from fellow ZU members and other communities, that it doesn't freeze.
you can check my blog, I've written a small review there about the VC version of Majora's Mask. It worked fine for me, while the CE version didn't. So, you don't have to worry.
