Stop believing whatever shit Polygon or Kotaku spews out, they are fake news
You do realize that it wasn't just Polygon or Kotaku that reported on this? Or is that fake news too? Is everything you disagree with Fake news too? Maybe you should reflect on that.
The accusation comes from a news magazine called the Daily Dot. The only confirmed incident of it was in 2015, which got the site temporarily blacklisted by Google until it was fixed.

The vast majority of the content people object to as pedophilia content is Japanese porn, specifically hentai. Where a character who appears childlike can be any age from five to five thousand and requires some heavy reading of context to know the actual age (assuming they just don't decide to not tell you and let you make up an age yourself). Notably, the same age range is true of any character who appears to be an adult, which is something most people don't focus on or seem to be aware of.

Notably, everyone focuses on that and not the fact 8chan is composed of people who felt too censored by 4chan, or that it is home of the Gamergate, Pizzagate, a number of swatting incidents, an Antifa list that led to an investigation by police in Louisiana, a large digital piracy group, or a number of other items that continue to this day.

Incidentally, the terrorist group everyone is talking about also posted on Facebook. Their posting on 8chan was just to draw people to their Facebook page, which is the group's real home. Basically, it was a recruiting campaign.

So, in the case of the terrorism, 8chan is innocent of being the group's home. Just guilty of a bunch of other stuff, though.

    • Honestly, I really think the THQ incedent was a mistake.. and not at the same time.
      Its also getting confusing.
I really want to eat a lime
But this situation is somewhat amusing.

For instance, thq said it was a mistake that they posted on 8chan... then (like said earlier) One of them repleid to a poster that said: "YO where them big loli's at"(or something similar). So either they wanted attention, or something went horribily wrong, or a freind of bobby(whatever his name ) suggested to post the ama on 8chan, and bobby just said "You know what this is great idea"

Either way, its still a bad thing to do (hosting an ama on 8chan)

    • If you wish to boycott THQ Nordic's games on Steam, this might help: imgur.com/a/pNlgwde

The same applies for Deep Silver, which as far as I'm aware are owned by THQ Nordic.

Edit: This might also help - a list of games that THQ Nordic is publishing (source):

Edit 2: Divided the list between THQNordic and Deep Silver.

Edit 1: Please note that publishing rights for some games differ from region to region. Always double check yourself before you make a decision.

      THQNordic:

      Spellforce 3: Soul Harvest
      Aquanox Deep Descent
      Monster Jam Steel Titans
      Biomutant
      Scarf
      Desperados III
Fade to Silence (early access right now)
The Guild 3 (early access right now)
Generation Zero (I think Avalanche self publishes the Steam version)
Darksiders: Warmastered Edition (upcoming Switch version )

For the recent THQNordic releases on Steam, I recommend clicking this link. It is the Steam publisher page for THQNordic.

      Deep Silver:

The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep (console versions)
      Dead Island 2
      Outward
Pillars of Eternity II (console versions)
SEGA JP and Atlus physical copies in Europe (depends on some games and countries, double check yourselves)

You might say that their developers don't deserve to be punished, and I agree with that, but I think it's mostly the actions of the people at the top that are to blame for that. I don't think you can place all the blame on customers that choose to boycott.

    • Honestly, the entire decision just makes me baffled. Like who originally thought of the idea "We should host an interview on a mediocre image board site that's out of the way, and has an extremely poor reputation!". Why not a safer suggestion like Reddit, or a livestream on Twitch, or anything else? And who decided to pass up on that for 8chan of all places?

It's a terrible place. I'm not going to make it out to be some paradise of free speech, or on the other hand, some hive of terrorists and pedophiles, but their site promises unadulterated free speech and minimal moderation. And given the people who tend to be moderated out of other communities for their behavior, or those who willingly choose to frequent that site, THQ Nordic made a poor decision of hosting their AMA there regardless.

I can't claim to know much about THQ Nordic's management structure, employees, and the views that their marketing department and other groups possess, but with how many questions have been raised, I'm more inclined to think of this as some massive blunder. But who knows what might come out information wise. I'll reserve the rest of my judgement for then.

You'll be hearing my name someday, whenever people talk about heroes - Takua!

To clarify, for Persona 5 it only applies if it's physical copies in Europe.
    • Persona 5 in europe? Well, that raised my hopes up a bit. I feel bad for the europeans, however.

I'm still boycotting all thq games. (Except persona 5 in america)

Hopefully THQ Nordic can go in depth and give us answers about this, and really explain why exactly this even happened, during their next AMA they'll be hosting on a drug trafficking website on the dark web.

That was last week. And they didn't even talk about it.

I hear they plan to give all answers during the AMA being hosted on an illegal arms trade site in July. They have the timeslot between homemade nuclear weapons and bioterrorism done on the cheap.
