Jeez how many of these people honestly believe this guy is "taking over for Nintendo." Do people understand how Nintendo works? Ethnocentricity at its finest
We know he isn't taking over Nintendo itself. That is Furukawa's job. However, he ran Nintendo of America, and had some control over the way things went in North America. I believe he talked to the actual president, and maybe suggested some things.
"A puppet that can no longer be used is mere garbage. This puppet's role has just ended..." -Majora
"A puppy can be fused with garbage. This puppy's role has just ended."
When I first saw the headline for his departure, I honestly thought it was satire.
Reggie has been the face of NOA for as long as I can remember, and to me, he feels like the type of person who is just impossible to replace. Wishing him well in his retirement and any future endeavors. I'm also glad the next guy is shaping up to be just as meme-able.
Why would you want him to be a fan of a company that doesn't make video games?
Anyway, I wonder how this will impact Nintendo's E3 presentations. Does Doug Bowser have the screen presence necessary to take over Reggie's role?
"But I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin." "In fact," said Mustapha Mond, "you're claiming the right to be unhappy." "All right then," said the Savage defiantly, "I'm claiming the right to be unhappy." "Not to mention the right to grow old and ugly and impotent; the right to have syphilis and cancer; the right to have too little to eat; the right to be lousy; the right to live in constant apprehension of what may happen to-morrow; the right to catch typhoid; the right to be tortured by unspeakable pains of every kind." There was a long silence. "I claim them all," said the Savage at last. Mustapha Mond shrugged his shoulders. "You're welcome," he said.
