The issue, to me, wasn't that it was conditional -- like I think it played out the way I envisioned it.
I just think it was unnecessary overall, and would have been a good debuff to a town that had the ability to confirm a lot of things with day abilities like Bolero's Politician, Xeno's Day Lie Detect, etc. (especially if town was willing to work together this game and no one was obstructionist --- which happened, so good for town)
I had a sinking feeling when the Day was about to start when I tried to kill Cody. It had only occurred to me then that he had already lost a life and was likely to have another and make the Night Kill pointless.
@Sólsetur Thanks for inviting me! I surprised I made to the end as a newbie (I think I'm the only one, haha).
I kinda wanted to see my first mafia game to the end, but I can't blame DLR in slightest (and considering I was planning to roleblock him no matter what he said, it was pretty much over).
@Orion it turns out that I became a paranoid cop only on the second night, so my green reads on you on night one were 100% correct. If people had looked back and remembered how my reads were, then maybe they would have pieced together that my reads had a slight amount of validity. My reads on HarmonicalHero may have not mattered, but a lot of pressure was out onto him, which eventually led to him getting voted out.
Also I acknowledge that these games have given me kind of an ego. Sorry for that. Lol
I've yet to post my officialgmthoughts*TM but i have questions:
a) how did you all enjoy the game? is there anything you'd have liked to see done differently? this was a huge learning experience for me and i plan on taking most of this game into account when i host my next big one; any feedback from you guys is appreciated. dont hold bac.
b) Sabbo and I have discussed the rating of the game a bit and he thinks it is a solid 5/5, however from my interpretation of the bastard rating guide it would be more in line with a 4.5.. that said, I figured I might as well just go to the person who wrote the thing. @Foo would you mind giving your input on the rating of the game, why you would have rated it differently, and what exactly makes it the rating you'd have given it? You don't have to, of course, and I could just continue to talk with Sabbo about it, but I'd like to be able to more accurately gauge these things in the future ^^
ah, yeah, your role was one of the ones i liked a lot! i might stick something in to another game.
a lot of roles didn't really get utilized to the degree i envisioned;
-the reverse frame was never uncovered
-hammer/hidden vote was never used
-manipulator wasn't used *nearly* as much as i thought it would have been; granted, english was dead for the crazy bits (day's 1-3 were hyperactive, 4 moderately so, with 5-end being a slow plod to the end as town methodically worked it's way through things)
-kae never got to use her double vote
we did have a couple voting items used but they were mostly used to swing things; ie ty using his 2+ votes at the end of the day to swing the gladiation of ruki
Ask me for the clan test!

I think this is a pretty easy 4.5, and I would actually go down to a 4 before going up to a 5.
Obviously, to start, you have a straight-up reviver on the town side and a mafia Nexus on top of the GF, which are the sorts of strategy-warping power roles which tell you to go straight to 4, do not pass go. Don't think anyone is unclear there.
But are you departing significantly from the core mafia game? I don't see how. The expectation that the Cop will use flavour clues to realize they're amnesiac is the primary thing pushing in that direction and I wouldn't say that's enough to take you all the way to 5. As soon as the cop situation is dealt with it's just mafia as usual. Which puts it in the ephemeral "yes but" territory.
An argument could be made that the rules against saying certain things with unknown associated penalties also push up on the rating but that's not really consistent with our history. Maybe that's a discussion worth having over in the plaza? How rules about discourse do or don't effect the 5.0 rating.
