Later he sexts another woman and ends up being extorted by a foreign actor for 75,000$, both these things happened this year all since this summer. -

Trump will just make shit up if he feels like it, so I frankly don't think it would make much of a difference. He's been calling Elizabeth Warren Pocahontas non-stop for I don't even know how long, I don't think he'd need much time or effort to come up with some bullshit for a new Democrat if he had to. -

Sure, but the difference is that a new Democrat speaker could reasonably be someone who isn't already hated by most people (Pelosi) and won't take his garbage at face value and embarrass themselves trying to prove a point (Warren).

Warren didn't have to respond at all - she announced an interest in running for president (and I would absolutely still support her so it's not like I think it's unforgivable or anything), saw what she thought was an opportunity to make Trump look bad, and looked like a total rube when it backfired.
I'm not disputing that trump will drudge up shit about anyone because that's how he operates. But you don't have to take him seriously because he doesn't deserve it. Point out how insecure and stupid he is, don't capitulate to any taunts that he's clearly making in bad faith. Stop trying to meet this overgrown toddler halfway. -
I don't think anyone here is advocating for trying to take Trump seriously.
In fact, not taking him seriously is kinda what I was getting at - who he sets his sights on doesn't really matter in the end, because he'll just lie and make shit up to suit his needs as he sees fit. What the Democrats need isn't someone who won't be ridiculed by Trump - because no such person exists. Trump will ridicule anyone for anything. -
We might have been talking past each other, then. My concern is squarely with who is the speaker, not how trump would try to screw with them. Pelosi has already demonstrated her inability to be an effective speaker and she's already talking about turning the other cheek after all the shit the republicans have heaped on us. I'd rather have someone who is more willing to fight back.
Course, Mike has a point - the center-right wing of the democrats are going to hold onto their last vestiges of power for as long as we can. -

My issue isn't primarily Pelosi's unpopularity among Republicans or Independents, its her unpopularity among Democrats.
When only half the people in your party have a positive opinion of you, you shouldn't be the leader.

So looks like the Senate race in Arizona now has Sinema in a slight lead. Also, the Florida Senate race is now in recount territory as unaccounted for votes are being found in Broward County and the like. Election Night will be continuing on for a little while longer it seems.

I don’t understand the hate Pelosi gets. She got the votes from the blue dogs democrats to pass ACA knowing full well they may lose seats in 2010.
I’m hoping she doesn’t bow down to Trump when it comes down to the Mueller investigation. The democrats need to play hard ball on this issue. All hands on deck and no mercy for the GOP. -
If the results hold in Arizona with Sinema winning and the Democrats manage to flip Florida back. Then a net loss of 1 senate seat isn't actually that bad and gives the Democrats a better chance of winning the senate in 2020 when the map is in their favor.

I'm not holding out on Nelson since he somehow has to swing 15,000 votes unless some major errors are found during the manual recount.

A very large number of ballots in Broward (something like 25k ballots, iirc) are currently listed as not having voted for the Senate. A lot of people thing this is suspicious and believe that there could have been an error with the machine reading the votes. At the end of election night, Scott had a 50,000 vote lead. Since then it has narrowed to 15,000 like you've said. The ballots aren't all counted. If the number continues to decrease to the point that it triggers a manual recount we can find out if those ballots truly are unmarked.

Apparently the agricultural commissioner has received more votes than the U.S. Senator so that makes me worried that a lot of voters missed the "U.S. Senator" section.

Broward has a history of poor vote handling. In fact, The Florida Department of State ruled last May that the Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office under the supervision of the same official, Brenda Snipes, "violated state and federal laws by destroying ballots from a 2016 Congressional race too soon".
