It's the same thing like when the NRA put themselves on mute after the Philando Castile shooting. If Castile had been a white man, the NRA would have practically declared war. However, I do find it ironic that when a Muslim Arab goes on a public killing spree on random Westerners, and you call it terrorism, far-left (quite literally) says:
- 'you will incite violence by calling him a terrorist'
- 'where's proof that he's linked to a terrorist network?'
- 'what happened to due process?'
- 'that's racist!'

But when a white man does this he's ''literally a terrorist'' a few hours after it happened, and the media is being deceitful. (which, I agree, is the case, don't get me wrong–not my point)

As someone who would characterized as "far-left" I have never heard anyone who said that, is this something that takes place in your country?

I don't think you'll find many who believes that Arabs can't be terrorists, rather what you'll find is people that say that not all Arabs are terrorists. I.E it's not fair to label an entire group of people terrorists based on the actions of a very small minority

My issue is the double standard that was most starkly on display during the Quebec mosque shooting. Initial reports showed that it was a white man and an Arab man who shot up the mosque, so everyone was comfortable saying at that point that it was terrorism, then when the news dropped that the Arab man was a witness not a suspect and that the perpetrator was white, suddenly they stopped calling him a terrorist.

Terrorism is violence to intimidate a society and achieve a political aim (both the case in the bombs sent to Democratic Trump critics and the Synagogue shooting.) So it makes sense to actually look into the motive of the perpetrator because that is inherent in defining an attack as terrorism. Too often the media essentially says "wait, we have to see the pigmentation of the shooter before we can tell if its a terrorist attack", that is the criticism of the media. The assumption that Muslim=terrorist white=crazy murderer.

I used to be a skeptic of the concept of the Tyranny of the Majority, but after coming out as pansexual, and transgender, I realized that it was very real.

The reason I didn't know the truth is that due to my white privilege I was afforded a lie that the oppressed cannot afford to believe in.
