I enjoyed the trailer for the most part I'm just annoyed it basically spoils Endgame and kind of ruins the impact of the end of Infinity War. But that's more due to the fact Marvel insists on cramming their movies so close together. Just bugs me when studios do this.
Edit: To be fair I've also seen people on YT theorize this is all in the Soul Stone and everyone's still technically dead but that makes no sense if the movie comes out after Endgame. Ant-Man and Wasp technically did the same thing as a IW prequel and that kind of annoyed me then too.
Spider Verse was the best spider-man movie yet. I've always thought Spiderman would make a great animated movie because they can really go all out with the swinging and agility and style and it wont break the uncanny valley. I loved Nicolas Cage as Noir Spidy and I friggen loved the Nick Miller-esqu Spider-Man. They did a fantastic job with Miles, and Gwen, and Aunt May, and Spider-Ham, and the humor, and pretty much everything.
I am a little bummed though because this movie would be the perfect lead in to the comic book version of Spider-verse, with the inheritors, which was Epic. Except that story doesn't work without the 616 version of spider-man, and I can't picture them putting him into this story now and taking Old Washed Up Hobo Spider-Mans place.
Yeah Kingpin was kinda weird but you gotta remember this isn't our kingpin. You can assume some sort of genetic enhancements gone blocky.
I too am irked that the new spider-man trailer kinda ruins the ending of End Game, unless it really does take place right before Infinity War, which would be odd considering its being released over a year after IW and months after End Game.
Also, the trailer gives away too much! D= and those cool spidy costumes are supposed to mean something! D= And they really are going full board with the whole MJ thing! D= She's a decent character, a weird but acceptable choice for a love interest, I'm just annoyed they're calling her MJ. She's the antithesis of Mary Jane. They might was well take it a step further and turn her into a villain... which would actually be half interesting.
I dunno if it's just cause I used to read a lot of comic books, but the fact that Spider-man is back after Infinity War is no surprise? Beyond the fact that this movie was announced before IW even came out? Like, the MCU has always taken a lot of narrative/structural inspiration from comics, particularly when it comes to the more crossover-y installments; heroes dying and then coming back is pretty much par for the course.
Trailer looks like pretty standard MCU fun. I liked Homecoming and this iteration of Peter Parker and co. quite a bit, and I just love Spider-man so much that I'll never say no to more.
I think the only spoiler you could consider is that london seems entirely unaffected by half the universe disappearing, so we can assume IW2 undoes the events of IW1. Which is unsurprising i guess, but still sort of confirmation
Honestly doesn't bother me so much, plus my opinions echo what everyone's already posted here. It hasn't lessened the hype for IW2 in the slightest for me, only has me looking forward to another Marvel movie this year, lol. (I love Tom Holland, I'm ready).
