Thinking of picking up Ni no Kuni 2 tomorrow, good idea? I can't recall the things some others have said about the game in here but I loved the first one so it seems worth it.
The plot starts strong, as do the characters, but then it just kinda...disappears (I gave up after a chapter where the entire plot was wrapped up in about 10 minutes with almost no buildup. They clearly had a full arc they wanted to tell there, and just...didn't.) It also suffers from cramming a half-dozen different systems into the gameplay. Like, there's the foundations of six different games in it, but with only enough resources/funding to make one game's worth of stuff they all end up kinda shallow and flat.
I will say that the art is great, as is the music, but it just has a number of issues with the rest of the things.
May those who accept their fate be granted happiness;
Those who defy it, glory!
