  • Quote from Pietro: “The fact that the "white nationalists" marched proudly holding torches in a march like the KKK used to do and with KKK members, and marched proudly with people holding a Nazi flag. It really shows that its a distinction without real difference. They're different groups with essentially the same ideology. There were no "good people" in that pro-confederate statue march, someone who has no discomfort in marching with Nazis and KKK members isn't a good person. ” They want "pure"…

  • I was looking forward to the game and still am, but it's not gonna be an instant purchase for me. I wanna see how the microtransactions play out and if they make the game more grindy. I don't support loot boxes in full-priced single-player games. It also makes me wonder -- a big point behind these optional loot box purchases in games is that they aren't pay-to-win and they only help players who want to accelerate their progress through the character progression of the game. And that any player w…

  • Quote from Moechacho: “I find that the conditions of the current political atmosphere and events are not to the same degree of the fall of the Wiemar republic and so and so on. Although similar, and troubling... I don't think anything is to come of this any time soon and as morbid as it sounds, it seems that it will just blow over like any other major crisis or event that occurs here in America. I am no supporter of Trump, I very much dislike his administration and the political agenda being fol…

I believe in freedom of speech so I will defend any individual's right to say "nigger, cuck, faggot" etc. What I won't do, however, is defend them after they say those words. They get everything that's coming to them. For me personally, it's a convenient and quick way to identify who I shouldn't waste my time with, as I doubt that someone who eagerly says nigger with hatred and vitriol in their voice is someone who has the brain capacity to understand why it is wrong.

  • @Bill what exactly has Donald Trump done to make him the best president in your lifetime? Quote from Bill: “Quote: “Trumpo Littlehands needs to have his ego stroked twice a day so he can stay in tip top mental shape! ” Even if it is not a viable option, Trump understands that at the very least, he needs to sow some doubt in Kim Jong Un's mind that he could be hit at any moment if he continues on the current path. It's heartening that at least this administration is trying to solve theproblem, wh…

  • Been playing Dishonored 2 I picked up Dishonored 2 cause it was 50% off on Steam and I didn't think it was much different/better than the original until I hit the ending sequence of the game and the missions got really good. Mission 7 (The Dust District) and Mission 8 (A Crack in the Slab) were both really well-designed levels. The Dust District has you moving through an impoverished mining district where dust storms similar to MGSV's sand storms regularly hit the city, providing the player with…

  • It's kind of weird seeing big corporations having such sway over people and the information they get. There are some similarities between this development and the fact that a handful of companies own 90-95% of the media in the U.S., in regards to a concentrated group of people being able to disseminate or suppress the information that they want. I can appreciate the fact that they are trying to combat toxicity on the internet, but I'm not sure if they are doing it right and I'm also worried that…

Just bought myself one of the bundles from Gamestop's website. Literally could not find it anywhere else for 2 months, so I said fuck it and made the purchase. It'll be shipping out on the 18th of this month. The Switch looks like its gonna have some real system sellers in the coming months. Both Mario + Rabbids and Mario Odyssey look very promising. Can't wait to see how this platform's library grows.

  • Couple of thoughts: 1. I think light blue was a good color for Link's tunic. I've been playing with the TP tunic for a few weeks and I've noticed the dark green doesn't really pop out against all the wooded and lush areas in the game. It still looks cool, but the contrast isn't there. 2. I just tried the TWW tunic and noticed that Link's hair drags off to the side over his cap & bobs around a bit, just like his hair did in WW. There's a lot of attention to detail in this game - I really didn't e…

  • Quote from gamtos: “The Master Sword, after the Trial of the Sword, has a base attack power of 60, about three times the durability of the Scimitar of the Seven (which is one of the most durable swords in-game), shoots sword beams at full health and cannot truly be lost or broken. It's also the one-handed sword weapon class which means it combines well with the Hylian Shield. When you take all of these elements, it's clearly the best sword in the game. Otherwise, all Savage Lynel weapons are top…

  • Goddamn, the Hylian Shield is sturdy as heck. I went to the castle to get it right after completing my first dungeon and it still hasn't broke. It's withstood a good amount of shield surfing and a lot of blows from the likes of Golden Lynels. Still chugging along like a beast.

  • Quote from Topaz Mutiny: “I guess we should all blame Ganondorf then, since he started the trend of locking Hard(er) Mode behind an Amiibo paywall. He truly is an evil overlord. ” Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel the content... the difficulties modes... and even the extra features... the gaming I've lost (to ridiculous DLC practices)... it won't stop hurting. It's like they're all still there. You feel it, too, don't you? I'm gonna make them give back our past (gami…

  • Just gotta say, over the past month I've easily put in over 100 hours into BotW and expect to put in at least another 100 hours into it. Gonna finish up Master Mode (IDK if I'm gonna go for all 900 Korok Seeds, but I'm gonna do everything else) and then go through the game again on normal mode. This game is quite amazing, despite its drawbacks. Yes, it's not perfect. But what we have here in BotW is an excellent foundation for what is to come. The core gameplay loop is simple but addictive as he…

  • I don't think Nintendo understands DLC sometimes. For example, having a harder difficulty in BotW locked behind the season pass. Locking this "FUSION Difficulty" behind an amiibo is really badly thought out. I was already miffed about BotW having items and skins bound to Amiibos... this goes too far.

  • Quote from Please Understand: “Yeah, at the moment it's a bit of an enthusiast item. The sales are probably about what was expected; VR devices are not underperforming. Sony's PSVR sold over 70% of the manufactured units in its first week, so they had projected correctly. I think VR will benefit a lot from wireless. Until all the cables are gone, it's not going to become big, because cables are too intrusive in VR context. ” Yeah that's going to happen 10-15 years minimum. VR was kind of a bust …

  • I just went to the Coliseum to farm the enemies there for rare ores and the golden Lynel there is wielding a flameblade. Using flurry after it attacks absolutely murders the game's framerate cause the flame effects from the sword are being slowed as well.

  • It is and VR is just a fad. The big push came and went and nothing really happened.

  • Heroes of the Storm. I cannot explain how satisfying it is to hunt down all these Genji players as Zeratul. He's like a space ninja that out-ninjas Genji.

  • How to beat a silver lynel

    tallgeese - - Modern Zelda

    Post

From personal experience yesterday/today: the "true" or awakened Master Sword will not break against even a Golden Lynel. I killed two Golden Lynels back to back in Depplan Badlands or w/e they are called (North/Northwest of Death Mountain) before my Master Sword expended its energy.

  • Quote from ich Will: “The trees have never bothered me (the leaves do look pretty bad when you get close though, I'll agree with that). Link dramatically ragdolling and rolling around when taking hits though? That bothers me. I'm like argh, get up already ” Yes, I often find myself mashing buttons when knocked down; almost half-expecting Link to do a quick recover animation, since that mechanic is often found in games like Zelda. Nintendo has incorporated it in games they've made before. It's no…

  • How to beat a silver lynel

    tallgeese - - Modern Zelda

    Post

I wouldn't try to parry a Lynel -- too little reward for too big of a risk. Perfect dodge into flurry works much better. Always close the distance so it doesn't shoot you with arrows. Also, usually with Lynels you can use the updraft created by their fireball trails setting grass on fire to get an easy headshot and mount them up. For a Lynel like the one in the arena, quickly set down 4 or 5 bundles of wood and light them on fire for the updraft. It's a little likely that the Lynel will destroy …

@Zugioh that's odd, i've never had them fall into the water. you can turn their bodies a bit when you run around them between the sneakstrikes, so use that to position them so they stay on the platform. just cleared the final trials on MM btw, the cutscene looked pretty sweet with the TP costume on. glad to be finally done with it.

There's definitely a bit of a learning curve to TOST on MM. I might be incorrect though, because my only experience with TOTS has been MM TOTS. Really though, it's just the initial adapting curve and then floor 10 in the beginning trials. I was able to clear the middle trials without dying once (and a full stock of fairies as well) and am currently on floor 8 of the final trials without experiencing much difficulty. That floor 10 though is pure hell and badly designed. If you abuse chain sneakst…

Yeah I beat the 10th floor on Master Mode a bit after I posted earlier, I basically set the first Lizalfos on fire and stunlocked the 2nd on with the lightning rod. Was super tedious killing both anyway, wasted most of my wood and arrows trying to kill them.

I've been attempting Trial of the Sword on and off since the DLC was released. Since I've only been playing on Master Mode, I had some trouble with it at first and kept dying floor 10. So I decided to power up a bit before attempting it again. Now, with a full stamina meter and 13 hearts, I still find myself wiping on floor 10. Turns out you can break all your weapons and find yourself unable to continue due to regenerating health and the fact that the silver Lizalfos spend an exorbitant amount …

  • I was a little interested. Once I heard that the game will be supported by loot crates, it killed my interest.

  • I'm not interested in what the mainstream media has to say. I am concerned as well, I don't need the media to tell me to be worried.

  • Treason is not a fancy word.

  • Just started Trial of the Sword on Master Mode. Honestly... it seems poorly designed. Over-relying on bombs and bullet time is not exactly my idea of challenging.

  • Quote from linkthezora: “Wanted to add one more thought: In my mind, saying that you're fine with this is saying, "I'm totally cool with my country losing its autonomy to Russia -- basically becoming Russia's powerful puppet to do whatever he wants." It's interesting how those implying that are the Trump supporters (i.e., the very people who followed a man who went all, "Make America Great Again!") Did that include having America collude with a foreign country regarding elections? 'Cause last I …

  • Quote from HylianRoyal: “Quote from John: “He colluded with foreign intelligence agents to undermine US democracy. ” How is it undermining US democracy when you're simply meeting up with someone to see what they have to say about something? I know the left is in super overreact mode right now with people like Rachel Maddow from MSNBC making complete fools of themselves all the time but there comes a time when you just have to step back and take a look at the bigger picture of what is going on. Dodge their attack and flurry their ass. ” Thing is, I'm not compelled to stand still or far enough away from the Lizalfos (so it doesn't jump bac…

  • Man, I'm so done with Lizalfos enemies. They pop up and keep running away from you. Like, you either got to get a headshot, hit them with an ice arrow or use the statis rune to keep them in place. They just jump back, every single time. It's gotten to the point where if Lizalfos engages me, I just keep running. Really bad enemy design imo.

  • I liked the Tabantha/Hebra region the most. I'm a sucker for snowy areas and finding the hidden springs and all the cool little side paths on the Hebra Mountains was fun.

  • It's Oui and they were responding to Aonuma when he asked if they noticed the design on his shirt. It was transition so they could show off the new DLC equipment.
