I can't remember offhand if this applies to the Master Sword as well, but the Champion abilities all recharge twice as fast while you're in Hyrule Castle. I'm pretty sure it's the same with the Master Sword, though. If you don't feel like waiting the full ten minutes, that might be an option for you. But yeah, it won't recharge at all until you expend all of its use--same with the Champion abilities.
