  • Quote from Ghost of Gannon: “I just dont get why it takes them 3 years to make a game like dk country tropical freeze when it only changes a few things.” Apart from the fact that more than a few things have changed with DKCTF (the most obvious of which being the new player characters and the new enemies), it is extremely common for games to take up to three years in development, sometimes even more. It's just a fact of making games. It's not a coincidence that when developers rush a game's devel…

  • I've seen the predecessor several times before. Until there's actually anything to see from the upcoming one, however, there's nothing to talk about.

  • I'll start looking into Fast Racing Neo when there's something to look into.

  • Looks worse than Lost World. So I'm not interested.

  • Easy workaround; start addressing everyone as "motherf***ers".

  • It doesn't exactly stand to reason to say that "if Playstation and Xbox aren't hurting for sales, then neither is Nintendo". There is no rhyme or reason behind such a statement. Now, if history is to be believed - and I do think it is - then we're likely to see a lack of compelling NEXT-GEN EXCLUSIVE software (cross-generation ports aren't next-gen, people) resulting in PS4 and Xbox One sales crashing hard in the period between now and when some actual worthwhile killer apps come out that you ca…

  • I echo Khao's sentiment. I also think that every veteran from the original game is just about guaranteed to make their return, and prominent Nintendo characters that were introduced in Brawl like Diddy Kong and Wario are also likely to return as well.

  • Quote from PandomCastiel: “I put dark in quotation marks because it wasn't actually dark but they tried too hard to make it dark.” If they wanted to make it dark, they could have made it dark. Nintendo made Metroid too, you know. It's not like it's a foreign thing to them. I never really seem to grasp from where people get the impression that Twilight Princess is "dark". The story isn't particularly mature or heavy, the characters are pretty standard fare for Zelda, and the locations as well. Ho…

  • The official new game is getting characters that actually have unique moves and fighting styles, however. One is particularly harder to make than the other.

Alrighty, I've added to some of the other battle strengths (namely "halberd specialist", "hand-to-hand combat" and "mobility") to clarify how strong and agile he is normally, and also clarified the extent of the curse's empowerment towards these attributes.

  • The Character Development Award: Best character development

  • Most everything around him was white noise at this point, but Carcaroth did pick up the words of the one who was talking to him. He lifted his gaze to see a highly peculiar garment - a vest of feathers? - and on top, a young male face with long, brown hair and blue eyes. "I'm - " he began to say, intending to let the guy know that he was 'fine', but he had to quell another urge to throw up. The need to hurl was beginning to subside a little, his head was not hurting as badly, and he was getting …

  • Twilight Princess was extremely "dark" and "realistic"? I mean, I get that the older Link and the darker undertones of the game's setting and story left some impressions, but it was hardly very "realistic". Elder Scrolls it was not.

  • If a retail employee is telling you that there's "no difference" between the Wii and the Wii U, they at least know that the Wii U exists; so they're either horribly MISinformed (which is not the same as being ill-informed, and is their own fault) or they're being deliberately misleading, perhaps to steer customers toward the Wii rather than the Wii U (and sell more Wii consoles and games that they have in stock). Either way, there's responsibility to go around. Nintendo shouldn't have to educate…

  • As soon as Lithikk realized that Kerel was making his escape from this particular rooftop, she screeched with anger. "After him!" she cried, almost like she had forgotten that it was she who was controlling the puppets. The other person seemed to be perfectly content with beheading any of the humans that he got his hands on. He probably wouldn't like it when his little toys were all heading after Kerel, throwing their bodies off the edge of the roof in pursuit. Lithikk herself threw a few half-h…

  • Kerel had hoped that the elemental would join the fray, and he didn't disappoint. Well, his first attack didn't exactly light any fires, so to speak, but then again Kerel hadn't expected any less. Garlan and Felian were demons of water and earth respectively - hardly the ideal match-up for any fire-elemental. Kerel had planted Calaim in the ground with the expectation that it would keep her grounded for some time, as the magic-negating enchantment of the blade would render her incapable of using…

  • Quote from Bill: “I think it is fair to predict that almost all of those will be returning, especially since characters that many had presumed might be cut are back (Toon Link, Lucario).” I don't think many presumed that Lucario would be cut, given his recent prominence in Pokémon X and Y. And I dunno if many people expected Toon Link to be cut either. He was a likelier candidate due to his clone-like status, that much is true. But I think we are likely to see as many cuts from this list of poss…

  • Quote from Ruki: “BITCHES BA Person: Abyss Master BA Character: Alice Rokozovski VCR Person: Wickerlit VCR Character: : Mura Amina Ruta (ZRPG: Kingdom Come)” Oh my! • Quote from Bill: “It's looking more and more like the entire Brawl roster is back (minus maybe Snake).” It's a bit of a stretch - and by that I mean a big leap - to assume that most of the Brawl roster is back. Afterall, we still lack the following characters from Brawl; - R.O.B - Lucas - Ness - Wolf - Falco - Jigglypuff - Pokémon Trainer - Ganondorf - Meta Knight - Wario - Mr.Game & Watch - Ike - Captain Falcon - Ice Climbers - Yoshi - Diddy Kong That's a looooot of missing announcements. Now, …

    Post

Heya! Yeah, you could say that the lack of a Skills/Magic section was due to everything being covered under strengths and weaknesses, but I decided to go back and edit the profile a bit to include a Skills/Magic section anyway and just state outright that Caragon doesn't have any skills or magical abilities beyond what has been noted under his battle strengths. I've also made some other adjustments to the profile. I've added the following; - Weapon: Added something of a magical quality to the ha…

  • I hope they scrap the Kamehameha Final Smash and make it so that he Mega Evolves instead.

  • Arkham Origins for Wii U was already a gimped version of the game. Warner Bros. deserves credit for at least providing DLC for the game for a while, but they really shouldn't be surprised that people were shying away from the Wii U version of the game. They effectively shot themselves in the foot.

  • Lucario even makes sense as a returning veteran. It was featured prominently in Pokémon X and Y, and it remains one of the most Smash-appropriate fighting Pokémon of the games as a whole. I do think that Mewtwo is unlikely to return, but I was of that opinion prior to Lucario's reveal anyway. Now I think that we're not as likely to see Pokémon Trainer though. Someone has to give way for a Pokémon newcomer. If it wasn't gonna be Lucario, it has to be PT. I don't dare to hope that we're finally ge…

  • A console 2D Metroid game would be a solid contender for me. A 3D one wouldn't be amiss either. I think a third Donkey Kong game would probably not suck either, but I think Retro got the memo that they've been dabbling with the Kongs for long enough. Of the given franchises, I think Metroid is the one most in need of being grabbed hold of and yanked onto its feet, but to be honest what I'd really like to see is Nintendo investing in other western developers. Retro shouldn't be the only one that …

  • In the grand scheme of Nintendo's current predicament, unfortunately, yeah; those are trivial reasons for them to focus harder on the Wii U's Virtual Console. If any of those reasons were lacking, or indeed if all of them were, I still doubt you'd suddenly decide against buying a classic game like Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Metroid. This means that they are trivial. But if trivial sounds too harsh, you could say that they are too low-priority instead. One thing is sure shooting though; as long…

  • Quote from Canyarion: “When they announced the Wii U, I think they showed ALttP running on the Gamepad. And they advertized off-tv gaming, so I immediately thought "it will be great to play ALttP and other classics on that screen. It's like great mix between console and handheld." I somehow think I'm not the only one to think so. Off-tv is one of the most praised features of the Wii U, so maybe you shouldn't dismiss Upad VC games so easily.” I don't think I've dismissed it so much as pinpointed …

  • Quote from Canyarion: “The Deluxe Digital Promotion only works for games that are linked to your NNID. So you can't get the 10% money back deal on the Wii's VC.” You can't get 10% money back on ANY purchase made in the eShop OR the Wii Shop if you were unlucky enough to get the Wii U basic edition. Not to mention, the deal is pretty insignificant if you, like me and so many other Wii owners, bought the VC games before the Wii U even released. Quote: “Also, if your game gets released to the U's V…

  • Quote from MM is GOTY all years: “Nintendo jumping the gun, saying they'll will have GBA and DS games on Wii U when they haven't even managed to port half (less?)the Wii VC library over just seems silly to me. The Wii VC is severely outdated and isn't linked with a NNID. People don't want, and shouldn't have to use it.” Doesn't really matter if the Wii VC games are linked with a NNID or not, because the accounts are not unified. If your machine breaks, you're still as f***ed. And the VC library …

  • Quote from MM is GOTY all years: “They're not supported on the Wii U though, something which should have happened a long time ago.” If by supported on the Wii U, you mean "playable on the Wii U gamepad", then no. But then again, that's inconsequential. You can still play every single VC game available from the Wii Shop on your Wii U. To complain that it "should have happened a long time ago" is to make a bigger issue of this than it is. You can already play N64 games on your Wii U. Updating them…

  • Quote from MM is GOTY all years: “Not on WiiU.” You have full access to the Wii library of VC games on the Wii U.

  • Quote from EmptyStar: “Everyone's is loving Iwata thinking he's being a kind, gallant figure taking one for the team. The pay cut is only for five months.” And then they'll review their standing and see if he deserves to earn more money again. It does not mean that he just goes back to earning the same amount of money again after a set amount of time. And to be honest, I don't see "everyone loving him" for cutting his pay in half.

  • Quote from Florina Laufeyson: “Same. I may not get a Wii U for some time. So having Smash on 3DS is wiggy. Im like "oh hey, i can actually get in on this scene." Im sure the Wii U version and the 3DS version will differ in some respect. I like the 3DS version idea because Smash in 3D! Wheee! Its gonna be hella cool to see the KOs that hit the "screen" in 3D.” I wouldn't expect the developers to make use of 3D. A game as chaotic and fast-paced as Smash is absolutely horrible for it, and when Poké…

  • I liked the transparent one before it was cool! No but really, it looks good.

  • "Console warrior", "fanboy", "mentally unstable person", the label isn't the important part; it's the fact that the person in question is being far too irrational in how he adresses the perceived "problem".

  • Quote from zay: “What leak are you referring to?” There was a "leak" sometime ago showing Palutena in the 3DS version of Smash Bros. The problem is that we don't know if it was genuine, and even if it was, we don't know if the picture depicted her as a character or as an assist trophy. Her appearance seemed to lean heavily toward the former, but it cannot be emphasized enough how much salt you should take with that information. Quote: “Also, I highly approve of the beetle. Another question, do y…

  • Yeah, we're bound to get a newcomer from Fire Emblem Awakening, and I think even without the supposed "leak" there is a strong chance that Palutena also joins the roster (Sakurai's previous game was Kid Icarus Uprising, it's bound to get some representation). In other news, it appears that the Beetle is a new item; miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAAYUKlIFChT8g As in, an item that can be picked up and used by anyone. Not just Link.

  • I'd want them to patch the game if we end up with another Meta Knight situation where one character is just way too good compared to the rest of the roster, or a reverse situation where a character sucks so bad that it's not viable in any competitive sense. But I don't want them to patch gameplay exploits like advanced techniques. When I discovered and mastered the DACUS with Link in Braw, I honestly felt giddy. To this day I feel gleeful if I manage to pull it off in the middle of a fight.

  • Spirit_Temple.png kthx The Spirit Temple is the best gosh darn dungeon in the whole gosh darn series. Just getting to the dungeon is a badass quest in itself as you infiltrate the Gerudo Fortress to earn their respect and open up the way to the Haunted Wasteland. The architecture of the temple is magnificent both from the outside as well as the inside; most other dungeons in the game with the exception of the Great Deku Tree, Jabu-Jabu's Belly and of course Ganon's Castle have rather minimalisti…
