Kah Yah Shrine – A Fragmented Monument

by on May 16, 2018

Head east from Lurelin Village to find Palmorae Beach. One of the village children can show you the way if you ask him. Go up to the monument and talk to Garini, who will ask you to find the missing pieces of the monument.

If he doesn’t respond, it is probably because you don’t have the Camera function on the Sheikh Slate. Go to Hateno Village to recover this ability before starting this Shrine Quest.

Take a picture of the three broken pieces using the Camera. The pieces glow blue at night, which is the best time to search for them.

  1. One is a short distance to the east of the monument.
  2. The second fragment is at the opposite end of Palmorae Beach, near some crates.
  3. The final piece is at the tip of Soka Point: the sandbar just south from Palmorae Beach.

Return to Garini with pictures of each fragment and he will decipher the text. The message is a cryptic hint telling you to kneel down on the two altars. Crouch down on one of the altars and Garini will do the same. This will cause Kah Yah Shrine to appear.

Quick Thinking

  1. Go up the ramp on the left and pick up a barrel
  2. Step onto the moving platform
  3. Stand left to avoid the first obstacle
  4. Put the barrel down and crouch down to get underneath the second obstacle
  5. Pick up the barrel again and go right to avoid the last obstacle
  6. Place the barrel on the pressure pad to open the gate on the left
  7. Open the Treasure Chest to get a Small Key
  8. Unlock the door to reach the Monk Kah Yah and collect a Spirit Orb

Additional Treasure

Pick up a barrel from the right, get on the moving platform, and put it down. Hit the switch as you get close to the gate and it will open (a bow is the best way of doing this). Hit the switch again to open the final gate before you run into it. Place the barrel on the pressure pad to open the gate on the right. Open the Treasure Chest to find a good quality Claymore
