10.1 Find Princess Zelda!
After Zant forces you back into your Wolf form and has exposed Midna to the light, Lanayru tells you that the only way to return to your original form is to get to Princess Zelda. Run across the bridge to Castle Town. Run South, down the alley way and then east (west in the Wii version / Hard Mode) to Telma’s Tavern.
When you enter Telma’s Tavern, you will be thrown out and they will lock the door. Louise (the cat) will open a window and tell you to jump through. Walk across the tight ropes and be careful not to break any pots; if you are noticed you will be thrown out.
In the room filled with treasure, use your sense to reveal the Poe, so you can kill it. Talk to Jovani and he will open a path through a Treasure Chest.
You will fall into the Castle Sewers. Target and jump to the handle hanging on the north end of the room to continue. Pick up a stick near one of the torches and light it. Use the fire to burn the Spiderweb.
Light the following torches if you want easy access to more fire. Climb the ledge to the east (west in the Wii version / Hard Mode) and use the lit stick again to burn a Spiderweb.
Dig in the center of the next room to reach the lower level. This is the same place you were during your first visit to the castle. Climb the steps and cross the tight ropes to get to an open door, leading outside.
Be mindful of the wind as you traverse the top of the wall. when you reach the broken bridge, wait for the wind to lift it and then jump across.
Zelda will tell you that the only way to return to your original form is to go to the Sacred Grove and find the Master Sword.
10.2 The Skull Kid, the Game, and the Master Sword
Warp to North Faron Woods. Here you will find a Monkey under attack by four Puppets. Kill them and then walk up the ramp where the Monkey directs you. Midna will prompt you jump a series of gaps. Cross the bridges as the wind changes their direction. As you walk across the tight ropes, be careful of the swinging rocks.
Howl Zelda’s Lullaby at the Howling Stone behind the tree to your right as you enter the Sacred Grove to provoke Skull Kid and his Puppets. He will reveal a path and run away. Kill the Puppets and chase after him. Follow the path and the sound of Skull Kid’s music.
There is no mini map, but the map of the province will show you what direction you are facing.
Run west (east in the Wii version/ Hard Mode) through the path that Skull Kid opens. You will enter a room with shallow water, continue west (east in the Wii version / Hard Mode) into a room with a slightly higher level just ahead with Skull Kid, standing in front of a tree. Jump up and and strike him.
He will retreat towards the room with the shallow water. Follow him and continue through the northernmost passage into a room with a tree in the middle and an upper level. For now, run through the west (east in the Wii version / Hard Mode) tunnel to a room with deeper water. Jump into the water and swim through the waterfall just ahead and climb up to find and strike Skull Kid once more. He will flee to the east (west in the Wii version / Hard Mode) to the room you first attacked him in.
Run southeast (southwest in the Wii version / Hard Mode) to the room with shallow water and continue east (west in the Wii version / Hard Mode) through the newly open passageway to a room with a unique door to the north and an upper ledge where Skull Kid is. At the north end of the room, run west through the tunnel back to the room with the tree in the middle. Climb to the upper level and run through the open path to get to and strike Skull Kid for a final time. He will now open and retreat through the unique door down below.
Jump down and run through the newly opened path to the north and jump down into the next room. Dodge or kill the Puppets and then quickly attack Skull Kid before he disappears. You must strike him three times, each time he will summon more Puppets.
After you Defeat Skull Kid, he will open a path for you to the east (west in the Wii version). Run through and howl Zelda’s Lullaby on the Triforce symbol in the middle of the area. This will activate the statues and a game board. You can complete this challenge easily, by following the steps below.
Gamecube (Normal Mode) Wii (Hard Mode)
