With the excitement of E3 building among game enthusiasts across the country, Nintendo fans are eagerly awaiting to witness portions of the next Legend of Zelda installment. According to Eiji Aonuma and his creative team, the release of this game promises a unique open-world experience with plenty of adventures to pursue.

Due to the fact that The Legend of Zelda on Wii U will be the only playable game featured by Nintendo this year, numerous fans have dedicated their time to devising their own game theories and creating artistic pieces based off them. This stunning piece by suzumiyamisa on DeviantArt shows Link holding his elegant bow while surrounded by a vivid, almost dreamy environment.

The vibrant scenery seen in this painting is inspired by the limited amount of material that Zelda fans have been exposed to from The Legend of Zelda on Wii U thus far. Link is given a very mature appearance, and an incredible amount of detail is used to illustrate his trademark bow and arrows. Even Link’s hair is pulled up into a ponytail, giving him noticeably different look. The portrayal of Link in this piece demonstrates the desire among Nintendo fans to see compelling new changes in the upcoming Zelda game. The build-up for The Legend of Zelda on Wii U and NX is definitely strong, and I cannot wait to see what E3 holds!

  • Know there’s been quite a bit of hate over Link’s blue tunic and ponytail instead of his usual appearance in the games, but personally I’ve loved this look ever since the first footage surfaced 🙂

Rule #1 of Link: always talk first, otherwise people will confuse you for a woman in your very first trailer. This will then lead to a rumor that you are in fact a woman and will cause the internet to melt from the subsequent flame war. (It can’t be easy being this guy)
