In a recent interview with Dengeki PlayStation, FFXV director Hajime Tabata spoke about his desire to work on a Zelda game. When asked if there was a game he would like to work with, he bluntly replied, “The Legend of Zelda series. I’m not quite sure why myself, but a Zelda game made with the technology and know-how of Final Fantasy XV is the game I wish to create as of this moment.”

Obviously, this is just wishful thinking on his part, as he works for a different company from Nintendo. But one can only imagine what kind of Zelda game would emerge from the hands of Tabata if he were to mix Final Fantasy elements into it!

I’m not surprised, I’d go as far to say that most game devs fantasize about it.

I’d be very interested to see what Square Enix could do with the Zelda series after what they did with Mario RPG. Even if this guy wasn’t in the company at the time. And the company itself has changed. If Nintendo allowed Hyrule Warriors be created, I don’t see why Square couldn’t make a Final Fantasy styled Zelda Game..

And this is coming from someone who doesn’t care for the Final Fantasy series or Square Enix in general.
