Alongside the Tri Force Heroes art and screenshots released, some Hyrule Warriors Legends art and screenshots have also been made available. In the images below, you can see official art for the new characters that are set to appearas well as screenshots that show the graphical differences from the original Hyrule Warriors. It’s not yet clear how maps and gameplay will differ between versions, but some graphical and content sacrifices may come about; similar to how the versions of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS differed from each other.

Like all Hyrule Warriors characters, Tetra and King Hyrule will have dedicated weapons and move sets.

3DS_HyruleWarriorsLegends_scrn09_E3While some details on the gameplay and maps are unavailable, Hyrule Warriors Legends looks to play out similarly to its predecessor.

Current owners of Hyrule Warriors may be hesitant to pick up the 3DS version despite the two bonus characters it nets them. However, Hyrule Warriors Legends is a perfect game for fans who, for whatever reason, don’t own the Wii U version, but want to experience the frenetic action of Samurai Warriors with a Legend of Zelda coat of paint.

Hyrule Warriors Legends is currently slated for release in the first quarter of 2016.

Are Tetra and Daphnes the only new characters?

    • JasonBall

They are, so far, the only 2 announced.

    • JaidynReiman

They’re the only two announced. I HIGHLY doubt they’re the only new characters.

The roster layout alone gives that away. We don’t know how the 3DS roster looks, but these characters are transferable to Wii U, and Wii U has 3 columns of characters that shrink when more are added. Possibly they can create another column eventually, but they’d need to shrink a lot of icons before that happens.

Tetra and Daphnes are only two characters; there has to be at least one more. Frankly, though, I think its more likely to have around 6 new characters total. More than that is iffy IMO, though I’d love to see it.

Wind Waker stages are confirmed, so I think that also basically confirms Majora’s Mask stages. A story expansion was also confirmed. Hopefully both the new stages (so a new Adventure Map) and Story expansion are also available on the Wii U version.

Since the game isn’t coming until 2016, that’s a long time for it to only be two characters and two stages, plus all HW DLC.

They definitely need to bring in Toon Link with both his tunic and his pj’s, a Toon Ganon Costume and Toon Phantom Ganon, and a Toon Zelda costume.
