Each year birthdays come and go, reminding us that our time is not eternal. Despite this fact though, The Legend of Zelda has endured, with the series celebrating its 29th anniversary this year. Today I turn the same age, 29 years old, reminding me just how much this historic series has helped shape my life. It’s been there when I’ve been filled with joy, and when I’ve shed tears; at times it’s been my best friend and others my worst enemy. Between all the laughs and tears I’ve shared with The Legend of Zelda series, I honestly don’t know where my life would be.

That is why for today’s Music Monday I want to celebrate not only my birthday, but the 29 years that Zelda has been at my side with the original Legend of Zelda theme song. Because without Zelda, my life would be vastly different.

    Happy birthday!
Good music pick. LOZ 1 was so special compared to previous games. Being able to save your progress, being able to do many things, not just being a side-scrolling platformer, or single-screen arcade game. And it all started with that intro theme.

Yeah, happy birthday! The first Zelda game I played was phantom hourglass, but all the games seem to have a type of magic that is always found in the recurring tunes of the music.
