Utilizing Nintendo of Japan’s Twitter account, Satoru Iwata shared a few words, and a personal apology.
Iwata’s first remarks were on his absence from the most recent Japanese Nintendo Direct, which PR representative Mr. Morimoto hosted. The Nintendo president assured fans that he has no intentions of quitting his role in the Direct presentations. Rather, he thought it would be dull to see a 55-year-old host them each time.
Following these reassuring comments, Iwata spoke of the much-bemoaned Amiibo shortages. While not offering any more insight into the difficulties involved in keeping up with demand, he apologized for the shortages and reiterated that some figures will be reproduced. However, the amount of time needed to achieve a steady supply remains unclear.
