Most YouTube covers that we have reported on over the years have included acapellas, piano pieces, guitar remixes, and even violin renditions of our favorite Zelda songs. ALBEDO Nintendo Covers has come up with something completely different though, covering the “House Theme” that first appeared in Ocarina of Time with a recorder quintet. There are various types of recorders included in the quintet, including sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor and bass.

This is definitely one of the most unique covers I have ever heard in all my years of listening to Zelda-inspired music. The recorder is often considered as an elementary-level instrument that doesn’t have much use in the long term, but ALBEDO Nintendo Covers truly brings the House Theme to life in a way I didn’t think possible. As one of the most iconic pieces in the Zelda series, this cover is definitely up there with some of my favorites.

ALBEDO Nintendo Covers have also performed a number of other Nintendo covers, including a few more Zelda ones, so be sure to check out their YouTube channel for more Nintendo goodness!

The recorders give this song a light and airy (pun not intended) feel that reminds me of the Minish Cap music. Keep us posted on his songs that he says are coming soon.

Gotta respect Nintendo for making music that’s so blatantly repetitive and yet not annoying- in fact, relaxing- to listen to.

    Good cover, too!
