Later last year, we were treated with a rather neat story surrounding a completely fan-made demake of Ocarina of Time, appropriately titled The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 2D. The game would be a remake of the classic Zelda title, but with graphical similarities to A Link to the Past, which was released on the SNES. The game looked very promising, with multiple gameplay videos showing off the progress of the project. Now, the developers have thrown another treat our way: online multiplayer.

The game highlights multiple Links roaming Kokiri forest — one with the typical green cap, while the other dons a white one. There appears to be a chat option as well, and the players don’t have to be in the same area of the screen. Adding online multiplayer functionality to a Zelda game will be quite interesting, to say the least. To keep up to date on the latest goings-on with the developers, you can check their website.

I like how the fairies are flying around.
    .
How do you control the game?

That looks really cool, hopefully Nintendo are taking notes. Multi-player doesn’t have to be the main focus of a Zelda game but if you have some sort of co-op functionality where we form a part and do quests then you’d have a much better game. Just don’t make the mistake of making the game online only…..*cough*EA*cough*
