While many of you have only recently dropped cash on Hyrule Warriors and/or Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, another Wii U title demands (and deserves) your attention: the sequel to a gaming masterpiece, Bayonetta 2.

For those who haven’t been following the game, Bayonetta can now don the outfits of various Nintendo characters, including Link, Samus Aran, Fox McCloud and more. Of course, we’re here to see more of her in action with that awesome “Hero of Hyrule” costume.

First up, we have a new official trailer for the game based around the bonus attire. Bayonetta shows what she does best: slashing and pummelling her enemies mercilessly; and she does so in style with Link’s iconic threads.

Too short? I hear you! You can get a much longer, more in-depth look at the costume in action, as well as the general insanity that comes with the game’s fast-paced combat, in a 15-minute gameplay clip below. Fans of the first game will be pleased to see that the sequel is just as ridiculous and relentless as ever in its staggering setpieces and brutal boss fights.

Please note: The following video contains strong bloody violence, profanity and partial nudity. Also, for those who wish to avoid (minor) plot spoilers, you may want to skip the scenes between 10:45-11:25, and 14:40 onwards.

You can see more of the sassy witch and the tunic in our previous video round-up, and you can learn more of the other Zelda tributes in the game here. Credit goes again to Tumblr user 8ayonetta for the animated GIF.

The game is set to release on October 24 in North America and Europe, and Australia the following day. Make sure you get your pre-orders in; Platinum Games will certainly need support during the busy upcoming AAA video game season, and the game looks set to be a must-have title for Wii U!

Haven’t played Bayonetta, but from what I’ve seen, I’m sort of surprised they went with Samus’ power armour instead of the Zero Suit.
