Thomas Andersen is a self-taught pianist from Norway. He just uploaded a fantastic cover of the Lorule Castle theme from A Link Between Worlds. What’s really cool about this video — aside from his musical talent — is that it features some fun bits of trivia. It’s definitely making me want to play through A Link Between Worlds again!

This version of the Lorule Castle theme was arranged by Meldan. If you want to play it for yourself, you can find the sheet music here.

Thomas’s YouTube channel, thomandy, includes more Zelda piano covers such as Ocarina of Times Song of Storms, variations on the Romance Theme in Skyward Sword, and a Zelda medley that opens with my personal favorite Zelda song, the Clock Town theme from Majora’s Mask. So if you like this video, be sure to check out more of his work! You can also follow him on Twitter @ThomasAnPiano.

Don’t understand the point of covers. Loads of mistakes as well.

Mistakes?! There are no note-mistakes if that is what you mean!:) Perhaps you are talking about musical mistakes?

You know, I love the Lorule Castle theme, and have listened to it many, MANY times. And this cover is actually really nice. Just sometimes you cheat some of the notes out of their real worth. Like, you cut some of them short. It doesn’t sound the best all the time, and makes it sound like you’re rushing it, but I think that person heard those notes and thought of them as mistakes. But otherwise, really amazing!

Edit: Just read you are self-taught. Makes me even more amazed by your talent. 😀

Thank you! In my opinion ALbW is the best Zelda since Majoras Mask! I enjoyed both WW and TP(sort of liked SS to, in a “this is not a Game but an interactive experience” kind of way) ..but yeah, ALbW was so open, and fun!:)
