Earlier in the week, Link introduced us to his incredibly deadly ball and chain in the latest Japanese Hyrule Warriors trailer. As with all these trailers, Nintendo of America have now released an English version.

The footage is the same, but as with the recent English Fi and Zelda trailers, the translated text offers a tiny tidbit of new information. In the game, this weapon will be titled the “Gauntlet”.

If you missed the trailer the first time, check out the English version below.

I think “Gauntlet” is referring to the power gloves, not the ball and chain, since he can pick up anything heavy, and gauntlets are gloves. Gauntlet noun 1. a medieval glove, as mail or plate, worn by a knight in armor to protect the hand 2. a glove with extended cuff for the wrist. [dictionary.reference.com/browse/gauntlet]
I don’t know what I could’ve done to make this comment any geekier.

I would’ve just said, “Gauntlets are his power gloves stupid”.

It’s important to make Link look like he’s struggling to carry the ball and chain… otherwise he’s just making it and everything else look pretty light.
