We can say with 100 percent certainty that Fi, Link’s Skyward Sword companion, has been added to the list of playable characters in Hyrule Warriors. We don’t have any explicit details regarding her fighting techniques — perhaps she’ll slowly drive her enemies mad by spouting useless statistics? However, considering her spirit dwells within a sword, she’s likely perfectly capable of dealing some damage.

Fi isn’t the only character from Skyward Sword to make an appearance. According to Famitsu, we can expect to see both Ghirahim and the Imprisoned. The publication provided the following scan on their website — we’ll keep you updated if a better quality image surfaces somewhere.

I don’t know if you noticed, but also Link seems to have use of the Ball and Chain from Twilight Princess, and also there will be further Skyward Sword Link and Zelda DLC costumes.

  • Ceres Leaf

Really hope that this will be the boost Fi needs to be find enjoyable, I personally Loved her in Skyward Sword, small minority indeed.

  • Triforcehero

At least it something that isn’t from twilight

    • Chenix Stuart

      But TP was fun

      • ButtSquak

It’s not that it wasn’t fun, it’s just that they’ve been revealing A LOTTTT from TP.

  • Ryan Haney

I always read her comments on stats about how many kills I had against each enemy. I voluntarily read all her comments on each area. That was helpful. I read people saying Skyward Sword was empty and had areas with nothing to do. Maybe if they had listened to Fi they would have found stuff to do. I played Z:SS for 200 hours. I like her.

  • Michael Anthony Jenkins

    …interesting choice.

  • GamerFurry14

Ghirahim would be awesome as a playable character. Yes, although he’s a villain I found his attack style amazing. PLEASE! XD

    • Misty Smith

I wish that to. I found him more interesting than Fi

    • JaidynReiman

I still think all villains except for big bosses (King Dodongo, Argorok, The Imprisoned) are playable.

  • Roody Plaisime

Hi there I was wondering is anyone familiar with the bible? People got to be baptized to be saved and make it in Heaven

    • GreenLinkMaster

hay dude. I’m religious to, but do you really think this is the place for that? this is an article about news updates for a video game. then you pop in and randomly throw in religion…kinda out of place don’t you think? spread the word man, but be a bit smarter about how you go about doing it k?

      • Roody Plaisime

Are u super excited for this game?

        • Loki_GFS

Well, I don’t know about him, but I’m excited for this game. Why are you asking this?

          • Roody Plaisime

Of course everyone is excited for this game

    • Ixbran

And they homosexuals have an agenda for converting people.

You never see homosexuals go and knock on peoples doors to talk about sexuality conversion, or see them post on video game news articles about being failure with gay rights.

      Go bible thump somewhere else

    • veeronic

I don’t like religions that say there’s is the only way.

  • Loki_GFS

Although I didn’t liked Fi pushing down every little bit of useless information down my throat, I ended up liking her, specially after her goodbye in Skyward Sword, that scene was touching. I’m looking forward on seeing how she’ll fight, it looks like she’s going to use some “dance moves” to fight.

    • unknownperson

Here’s to hoping she looks at least graceful while she fights

  • Ixbran

I’ve a strong suspicion that Zelda’s new weapon shown in the scan is the Wind Waker. After all the back story of the Wind Waker baton in Wind Waker was that,
originally, only those from the royal family could use it. So it would
both fit, and make sense, for her to use it.

  • Bruce Wayne

More waifus for Hyrule Waifus. I’m all in, I loved Fi despite what everyone said. Couldn’t be worse than Navi or Tatl, tell you what.

    • Ryan Haney

      What does “Waifus” mean?

      • GreenLinkMaster

        likely means “Warriors”.
        then her comment would say:
        “More Warriors for Hyrule Warriors.”

        • Ryan Haney

It literally means wife in Japanese, but in some subculture it means some fictional female you fall in love with.

      • Ryan Haynes

Say it out loud, omitting the “u”. It’s a joke you usually see on 4chan

        • Ryan Haney

Omitting the u and sounding it out got me “way-fs” so I looked it up and found this page: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Waifu
I had never heard of 4chan but they mentioned it on that sight when I had to look up what a weeaboo was, too. Frankly, I hope this new info doesn’t push some useful fact out of my brain.

          • Ryan Haynes

I am confused about how you got “way”, ai usually makes the long I sound, but, then again, maybe I just watch too much anime.

          • Ryan Haney

How do you pronounce rain or gain or grain or wait..?

          • Ryan Haynes

I was talking in Japanese Transliteration terms, like i said, I watch too much anime.

  • CEObrainz

It will be interesting to see how she plays, perhaps allowing for some sort of two person special with Link?

  • Joana Cartageno

I just can’t think of fighting skills Fi had, or might have. I just think this was a terrible choice. I’d rather choose Ruto for fighting, that’d be more interesting, and she’s an important character: she was a sage, after all! Also, even when I approve Agitha as a playable character I’m sure there are other character that could take place here and are being forgotten… Saria? Darunia? Skull Kid? I don’t know, there’re lots of paradigmatic characters out there.

    • B-rad

Ruto is the race, you mean Medli. Honestly, Medli would be sick to play as but Fi is definitely a competitor. Her arms/capes are probably sharp and combine that with her dance like movements and she will probably be the most skilled character in the game

      • B-rad

Okay i feel dumb haha its the rito tribe i was thinking of. Yeah she would be a cool character to play as but would she be more of a summoner?

  • Alyks Syriece

    Wow… This… is… AMAZING!

  • norebo

Another Zelda character is getting the “Sailor Moon-ish sexualization make up” by Team Ninja. Not good IMO.
I actually hate Team Ninja. They can’t handle other’s franchises, proof of it would be the horrible Metroid Other M.
Besides, there’s PLENTY of female characters in TLOZ that could fight really good (Ruto, Nabooru, etc), and who do they pick? Fi, who is supposed to be the sword in Link’s hand.
I don’t like where this is getting, sorry. I think I’ll pass this one and save money for Zelda U.

    • Shawn Taylor

There is still a massive cast of characters to be announced. For reference, the last Dynasty Warriors game had 83 playable characters. We’ve only seen seven so far. Expect a lot more. They started focusing on TP characters, and this week are shifting focus to SS. I Expect OoT, MM, WW etc. announcements in the future.

      • B-rad

        That’s beyond smash brothers haha

    • Anthony Moseley

I don’t really see how Fi has been “sexualized”. She looks pretty much the same as she did in Skyward Sword.

  • KMS

If you want more SKyward Sword, I suggest an LD-301 in humanoid form. I’ve already thought of what they would look like, and it’s pretty awesome when you think about it. Also, I made up this character similar to Lana See her here:

  • Garrett Hoy

Fi was originally meant to fight with Link so it will be cool to finally see her in action like originally planned.

  • Trinosaur

Would Ghirahim be a playable character, or just a villain to fight? I’d LOVE to be able to play as him on the roster. Also where’s Groose HM? WHERE IS HE? I need some slick pompadour action here!

  • Anthony Moseley

That sound you hear is the Ghirahim fanboys/girls breaking the internet.
