In a video compilation created by Master0fHyrule, several Final Smashes from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS are showcased for many key characters in the games, including several from the Zelda series. Link, Zelda and Sheik are all featured in the first look we’ve had thus far of these finishing moves from the highly anticipated installments in the Smash franchise.

Link maintains his Triforce Slash, while Zelda and Sheik still use the Light Arrows for their Final Smashes. A little boring? Perhaps — I was hoping for something original from Sheik, but it’s nice to have their Final Smashes confirmed.

In an additional gameplay video, Toon Link’s Final Smash was revealed to again be the Triforce Slash, much identical to his finishing move in Brawl and Link’s Final Smash.

You can view the full videos in their entirety below, including a wealth of Final Smashes from additional characters in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.

Yes, very boring. I think that Links should have been a mega spin or something.

this could be a demo type thing so that no one knows the actual final smash’s of most of the characters, however if not ill be very disappointed but not that much at the same time

    • As optimistic as I want to be, I think the most damning evidence is DK’s final smash. He’s got a little timing bar added to his final smash– it’s the kind of thing you’d expect to see if they were bringing it back.

I was really hoping Link and Toon Link would get something new, too… They’re characters with multiple games and dozens of different items and abilities, yet they just… Slash someone a bunch. With a Triforce picture so you know it’s from a Zelda game character.

I think its possible Toon Link and Sheik could still get a new Final Smash later, DK’s was updated a bit but nothing for Sheik/Toon Link, their FS’s look identical.

I was hoping they’d have different smashes too. At least Toon Link’s smash being differentiated from Link’s might have been nice…

    …eh.
I don’t expect this game to be that balanced anyways…or to treat Link nicely, so I’m not disappointed.

    • Jesse Ren Saario

Idiot. Its been shown already that its being balanced incredibly well. Plus Link has been given a buff with some new moves.

      • VladNorris

Pardon me for being skeptical about a game I have not played from a director that made a game as uneven as Brawl.

        • Jesse Ren Saario

Who also made Melee and the Original, they have said they have a much larger balancing team this time around and that has been showed of how well things are being balanced right now. Regardless Im not going to let someone who knows nothing about this game so far insult it, you have no right especially with how much incredible hard work and effort has been put into it.

I wish they were all different..I was so disappointed during the journalist round of the E3 tournament, when I saw that Link’s was the same. Now that we’re post-Skyward Sword, his final smash should be a giant Skyward Strike that goes horizontally across from wherever he’s standing when he uses it. That would be epic.

  • Maxomum

they could still change them, stop worrying!
