Along with the new character and Amiibo integration announcements for Super Smash Bros. 4, Nintendo has also released the box art for the two games. The Wii U box art features a logo with blue flames and the characters charging forward; on the other hand, the 3DS box art features a logo with red flames and the characters lined up for battle.

    UGLY

  • Ben Bustin

take it back. do not want.

  • Super Saiyan Dashie

    This looks really good!

  • Joe

looks pretty sick. However, my only criticism of it is the title. I had hoped they wouldn’t stick with the “for Wii U” and “for 3DS” subtitle. I was hoping they would have actual subtitles like Melee and Brawl did…

    • Anthony Moseley

I agree. The titles seem rather ametuerish, especially for Nintendo.

    • Nomoredeadcops

Yeah I really don’t understand. Could they not think of another fight synonym?

    • Ryan Haney

I think they wanted people to know they are connected and want you to want both. I’ve been leaving the “for” out anyway.

    • Schwartz Ichenbachen

I know. Even “Super Smash Bros. U” and “Super Smash Bros. 3D” would have been better.

    • LukesAlike

Maybe ‘Super Smash Bros. 4’ would have sufficed…

  • Both seem pretty plain and focus on too few characters.

  • Ryan Haney

Look at the details. The cloth on Link, the denim on Mario, the metal on Samus, the old leather on Mario’s shoes, the Master Sword. It’s beautiful.

    • Shawn Taylor

Holy cow! Zooming in on the hi-res one, it’s MASSIVE. So much detail and texture. You’re right. You can even see the stitiching on Mario’s hat and each thread in Link’s tunic. You can see how the chainmail is individual links, not just a texture on top. You can see the cracked leather on Mario’s shoes and the rubber traction on the Villager’s. That’s so intense.

It may be kinda plain compared to Brawl, but it fits well with the WiiU and the 3DS that are minimalistic and clean. They do give a “modern” vibe, don’t you think? It fits well with Nintendo’s approach.
