During Nintendo’s Digital Event this morning, Masahiro Sakurai revealed that players will be able to fight with any Mii character that they have created. Each Mii can have one of three different fighting types: Brawler, Swordfighter, and Gunner.

The Brawlers will specialize in close up one-on-one combat with speed and power, using nothing but a closed fist and swift kicks. The Swordfighters will wield a blade and chase after other players with swift attacks. The Gunners can shoot several different types of projectiles, including charged shots and rapid fires.

In addition, each Mii type has three different special attack combinations, which when combined, makes for a total of nine different movesets you can equip your Mii characters with. Miis can also be customized with hats and different clothing options.

Sakurai stated that the reason he wanted to put Mii Characters in Super Smash Bros. was so that players could add any character that they wanted into the game to fight with just by creating a Mii. Anyone, from Ice-T to Abraham Lincoln, can now duke it out in Smash Bros.
