In November we reported on a Zelda LEGO set that was about to enter the review phase for the LEGO Ideas program, formerly known as the LEGO CUUSOO program. The results are in and this stunning Zelda set will not be entering production, much to the dismay of many Zelda fans. Although the set did manage to become one of several finalists for the contest, going up against the likes of SherlockAdventure TimeBack to the Future, and Macross, LEGO Zelda just wasn’t meant to be, this time.

Nintendo currently has an agreement with LEGO competitor K’nex. Until that agreement is over, there is a very slim chance of seeing Nintendo properties under the LEGO banner.

Would you like to see Zelda in LEGO form? What about a LEGO Zelda game? Let us know your thoughts!

I would think Adventure Time would win (if it were a contest), it’s popularity is too much nowadays…a Zelda set sounds cool but it’s something I wouldn’t buy/

  • Guillermo Platas

Never will the LEGO version of The Legend of Zelda simply because the license required to buy Lego Nintendo Nintendo is very expensive or not sold for this product. For this reason it has consistently rejected projects.

  • Trinosaur

Aw man that’s so disappointing! I’d buy the heck out of some Zelda Legos!!

  • Keimori

I’m not surprised, albeit disappointed. I really wish Nintendo would license Zelda to Lego, seriously, I’ve always found K’Nex to be the weakest of all the building toy lines. I can only assume that the contract includes not just Mario, if not, WERE’S LEGO ZELDA NINTENDO!?

I know right! Things like Zelda could use more advertising like Mario. Mario has backpacks, movies, and even chewable snacks! What if Zelda could have these things too? That would make it way more popular! (Zelda does have backpacks, but rarely do you see someone wearing one.)

Personally I don’t see the point of Lego sets, I thought Lego was about imagination not following instructions.

      Look at it this way:
      A) a Lego set is a great way to get into the craft, it helps a newcomer get into that mindset of building step by step and the overall process.
      B) Most Lego sets contain very unique bricks and min-figures one can’t get anywhere else. (certainly not in the generic buckets-o-Lego that they sell, I guarantee you, you won’t find a Lego Gandalf or Luke Skywalker in those things.)
      and
      C) Sometimes people just want a Lego *insert vehicle or set-piece from show/comic/movie here* and they’re too lazy or short on brick X to build what they have in mind from scratch. Having a set takes all the painstaking guess work out of it. After all, why take hours of your time figuring out how to build a Lego X-Wing, when someone way better at the craft already did that part for you.

but if you, look at the licencing they only do mario! not donkey kong, link, samus, etc.so there fore they can and if lego and lego fans want it badly they can buy the compony out.

  • Super Saiyan Dashie

I’d Totally would buy every Zelda set but it would also be awesome if they had a licence go all Nintendo games like LOZ, Metroid, Kirby and others.

  • Picobit04

I would wanna see Knex LoZ, because it would be hard using the rods and connectors…

who cares, you know what won? a lego set for girl scientists. guess how much more important that is than the legend of zelda? way important. i would pick a female scientist toy for production over a zelda game anyday. but also i really dont wanna see a zelda lego set that just seems really awful to me.
