The Overworld Theme is one of the most memorable pieces of music from any Zelda game. Link’s Awakening’s rendition of this theme is no exception, and is still an incredibly catchy theme to this day, despite the limitations of the original Game Boy’s sound chip. YouTuber The Second Narrator has decided to take this relatively simple theme and create a grand orchestral arrangement of it. The piece retains the lighthearted and almost whimsical nature of the original tune, while effectively translating it into a dynamic, bold orchestral piece. The art for the video is also really well done, showcasing a very cute interpretation of Link and Marin playing the ocarina and singing, respectively. Check out the video below, and if you like what you hear, you can listen to more orchestrations of musical pieces from Link’s Awakening on The Second Narrator’s YouTube channel.

This hardly sounds like a fan-made arrangement which goes to show how well it’s made. I could see Nintendo using this in another remake of the game.

Note to Editor: I think you misspelled “singing” here – “Link and Marin playing the ocarina and signing, respectively.”
