A couple months back, we reported on the first trophy reveal for Super Smash Bros. 4. Following Ocarina of Time‘s Saria as an unlockable figurine, this second confirmed trophy is far more obscure and unexpected in comparison. It looks like Little Mac’s been chomping too many Big Macs — but instead of the hard-hitting, fast-footed fighter we know and love from the Punch-Out!! series, this is actually a version of Little Mac from the Japanese Wii game, Captain Rainbow.

See, Captain Rainbow is a game which sees protagonist Nick, as his titular alter ego, grant the wishes of various Nintendo characters. Mac, having been out of work for a long period of time, got a little out of shape.

Series director Masahiro Sakurai says on Miiverse:

“This chubby guy is also Little Mac. Burn that fat!”

It’s great to see some more little-known Nintendo games get a chance to shine. Rainbow as a fighter or a new stage based on the game may still be a long shot, but at least this shows the game is getting acknowledged. And so it should — sadly the game never released outside of Japan, but it only takes a short trip to YouTube just to see how insane the game is.
