Super Smash Bros. 4 - Stadium

This is the third day in a row we’ve seen a Zelda character featured in the official Super Smash Bros. site‘s “pic of the day”, with the princess making another graceful appearance. She’s not the major highlight of this screenshot this time, however.

Series director Masahiro Sakurai confirms on Miiverse that, in this currently untitled stadium stage, fighters can use the ropes to spring into the air.

“The ropes surrounding the ring. You can actually use the stretchiness of the ropes to do a spring jump. However, you can’t pull on them to launch yourself sideways in a lariat attack though.”

You can catch previous images of this stage over on Smash Wiki, and Princess Zelda’s newly revealed attack here. Oh, and I don’t blame you if you don’t understand the headline reference; you probably just weren’t a ’90s wrestling fan.

    Very clever headline -v-

  • TheSkeletonMan939 .

Zelda looks like she’s doing one of her taunts from SSBB (the one where she waves goodbye). Admittedly though it’s hard to tell from the angle – it may be just one of her moves in mid-action.

    “Punch-Out!!”??

I had considered that this may be a Punch-Out!!-themed stage before too. However, if you look at the other screenshots (using the link in the post) you’ll see the Smash emblem emblazoned on the floor of the ring. This leads me to believe that this will be one of those general stages, like Battlefield and Final Destination.

Could be wrong. I hope I could be wrong. I’d love a Punch-Out!! stage and Little Mac as a playable character.
