Hello there, Universe! I am Rusty, here to bring you another Music Monday, with no adjective to describe it! A while ago I noted, to the dismay of everybody who read the column, that I had only really played Link to the Past for about five minutes, and got bored. Well, I started playing it again, and it is pretty darn amazing. I think the strange part is how a game that isn’t exactly Spring-fresh can still be relevant to us today. I am really enjoying the game, and I do plan on doing a ZeldaTunes for Link to the Past!

But we are not here to talk about my newfound love of Link to the Past, oh no–we are here for the music! I scoured youtube for about twenty minutes (now that’s dedication!) looking for anything that wasn’t made by ZREO, and I found two fantastic songs! The first, an amazing re-orchestrated version of “Hyrule Castle’s Theme”, which if you don’t know, is a fantastic combination of scary / intimidating / epic, that really sets you up for the task you are about to be handed. It is no laughing matter! Second, one of my favourite songs of all time, “Kakariko Village’s Theme”! To hear both of these, hit the jump!

YouTuber DeceusSTL is a little known orchestrating treasure! I absolutely love what he did with “Hyrule Castle’s Theme” and he has several other Zelda orchestrations, that are worth a listen!

Kakariko Village is one of the most iconic locations in the Zelda series, and it’s music never ceases to put a smile on my face. It’s just one of those catchy songs I think most Zelda fans adore dearly.

Thanks for reading! Make sure to check back again next Monday for another Music Monday!
