Nintendo’s E3 press conference is currently underway. The first game to be shown off was Pikmin 3. It’s hard to believe that it’s already been 10 years since the first Pikmin was released for Gamecube. Pikmin 3 will utilize the enhanced resources of the Wii U to improve the experience of playing this real-time action management game. You’ll be able to see the movements of each individual Pikmin. The game will incorporate Wii MotionPlus technology, but can be played entirely with the Wii U Game Pad. A new Pikmin type has been introduced, the Rock Pikmin. There will also be a challenge mode. One thing from previous titles that was clearly missing from this demonstration of Pikmin 3 was Captain Olimar, but Nintendo teased that the reason why he was missing is a “secret”. Pikmin 3 will be available to play on the E3 show floor, so no doubt we’ll find out more about this game over the coming days.
