Notice anything interesting about the screenshot above? No? Look harder. In the red box you may see a shield next to the words “Security and Privacy,” and upon closer examination you may see that the shield looks startlingly similar to the Hylian Shield from Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, or maybe even Twilight Princess. Stick around after the jump for a closer inspection.

As you can clearly see, this is no doubt the Hylian shield. You can make out the golden Triforce and the crimson Loftwing and everything. So I guess somebody must be a fan on the Dropbox team. Kudos to them for putting such a subtle reference in their Help center!

It looks more like the Skyward Sword version than anything else, but who is to say. What do you guys think? Pretty cool, or blatant copyright wrongdoing?

    ….why is this news?

It is my job to report on anything Zelda related. Not only that this was rather cool and interesting and it was given off as a tip from a fellow member from ZU.

And its kind of a slow time for Zelda news I hate to break it to you. :/

Sorry to be unrelated, but I sent in several emails about possible news (i.e., different things about Zelda, nothing new but cool snippets of information) and was wondering why no one had responded. Was it just not needed? I'm sorry if that is the case. I just wanted to help add to the site. 🙁

      • M. J. Sams-Barnes

I apologize, I just saw a new email had been send today to my email address. Ignore me. I am very sorry I spammed your comments. 🙁

That's kind of asking why a bar would sell beer. Why would a Zelda site report something Zelda related?

And yes the images aren't showing up, but for those who want to see it, just click the dropbox link, you can't miss the shield.

  • Red Bear LuX

The images from this post and the one before aren't appearing in my browser no matter how many times I re load the page. All other images are displayed fine. Probably something wrong with my end but I thought I'd let you guys know in case their is something wrong. :/

Grrr…I clicked "Reply" under Red Bear LuX's comment to state I'm also having image loading issues, but my comment's displaying as a new comment thread for me. As I type this, it claims I'm now responding to my own comment, so, we'll see, I guess. :P~

  • Kargaroc

Well I don't see it there anymore. Presumably they were changing their layout and they decided to have some fun with the old one while it lasted

  • TTL

Sorry for the nitpick, but that's definitely not the Hylian Shield as it appeared in Ocarina of Time. It's missing the infamous upside down "fourth" Triforce piece. The style is either an homage to the Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword versions which are, fundamentally, the same shield with some differences in textures and colors.

Still, cool thing to spot! 😀

    • GuildedBlood

I did say it looks more like Skyward Sword's than anything.

  • LaughingTachikoma

It's most definitely not the skyward sword shield. the skyward sword shield didn't have a triforce in it!

… somebody didn't do the boss rush mode. you done been gannon-banned.

  • Furthermore, Nintendo announced that they want to distribute game content via those relay points.
