Pushmo, go!

“Brawl in the Family” is a series of comics featuring Kirby and many other characters from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, including Link.  Each of the strips is relatively short and definitely a good source for laughs, so it’s great news that Link has made his way into one of these comics.  In it, Mario, Kirby, and Link are challenged to the game of Pushmo, in which they each try to rescue a child on top of a stack of blocks.  Of course, things don’t go exactly as planned.  Hit the jump to find out why each of these beloved heroes fails at the rescue, and why Link is perhaps the most destructive of all.

Go team go!

Plumbers don't play Pushmo

Pink, cute, and bad at Pushmo

Link, you're so smart!

Oh, Link...

Oh, Link:  it seems that using the hookshot for scaling walls, capturing Skulltulas, and bouncing from rooftop to rooftop is perfectly fine, but when he tries to use it to rescue a poor child, he just gets yelled at!  If you’re interested in more “Brawl in the Family” comics, head on over to the official website, where any Smash Bros. fan is sure to feel right at home.

What’re your thoughts on the hilariously unfortunate fiasco featured in the comic–can you think of any other of Link’s items that would’ve been a no-no in trying to rescue this child?

Moral of the story is if in doubt stick to what you know, or there is more than one way to skin a cat. 🙂

kirby's makes absolutely no sense what so ever. I think it has to do with bomb blocks, but could have shown it better.

The one you're talking about is Samus, not Kirby, Samus was using morph ball bombs to get an extra enegry tank instead of rescuing the child.

    • Kirby can fly by swallowing a bunch of air..then kind of float/flap upwards 😛

WOOT I love the BitF series!! It's about time ZU showed these comics for all Zelda and Nintendo fans to enjoy.

  • The Kirbinator

Hello. I am the Kirbinator from the BitF forum.

That comic strip is interesting. Yes, Kirby can fly by inhaling air and flapping his arm.

    Been reading BITF since forever.

"…it’s great news that Link has made his way into one of these comics."

Link has been in these comics for years. He didn't just get in!

    • The post didn't say that he just got in, and we can't practically make a news post EACH time he appears in one. A post such as this is giving BITF a shoutout, and will hopefully redirect people who come to ZU but who have never heard of BITF to check out their site. 🙂

  • All these characters make it seem simple.

link probably shouldnt use any of his weapons to save a small child

Haha! I like this one. Been a fan for a while. The author's father is my band conductor.
