Hey guys! It’s two days until Christmas! In today’s edition, we discuss the possibility and wishes of The Legend of Zelda games ported to the Wii U.

When the Wii U was revealed at E3 2011, we were introduced to the what the next-gen Nintendo console would be capable of and we had a look at how the controller would look/work.  I remember sitting in the audience and thinking how awesome a Zelda game would be with this new Wii U tablet.  The possibilities were endless!  This could change the menu system, the way we use our items and maps.  It may even give us new ways to use classic items and weapons like the slingshot or clawshot.

More after the jump!

With the excitement of what a Zelda Wii U title could be, nostalgic thoughts ran through our heads of the older Zelda titles and how much we enjoyed playing those.  How much those games felt new and fresh, like actually going on a new adventure every time.  Then it struck us!  Nintendo has ported GameCube games to the Nintendo Wii in the past, Nintendo New Play Control titles .

What is the possibility that Nintendo will port some of their old titles for the Wii U like they did for the Wii, and implement the new control style?  How awesome would it be to play Majora’s Mask or The Wind Waker while having the new tablet as a new play style!  Being able to quickly travel across the high seas with your new map/tablet by you side!  Or easily selecting your masks with your new tablet!  We got a nice taste of this with Ocarina of Time 3D.  We got a second screen to switch out items and to quickly check our maps.  This made an already amazing classic game feel fresh and new.

Would you want to see classic Zelda titles ported or added to a virtual shop on the Wii U, implemented with new controls?  Let us know in the comments below or in the video attached!

Thanks again, and you have just been ChrisCrossed!

I really hope they port Wind Waker to the Wii U. WW was one of the best Zelda games I've ever played.

  • I love this series! (all the videos are pre recorded, as how they are wearing the same shirts each "day") Wind waker was my favorite game in the series, i hope they port it to the WiiU.

Zelda: FOUR SWORDS ADVENTURES shoud get remade for the WiiU, You know how the gamecube version used the GBA, Replace the GBA with the WiiU controller 😀 That would be Brilliant!

Four swords adventures should totally be ported to the wii u. and i think wind waker should be too but i would rather they would make it a downloadable and not spend to much precious time they use to make a new zelda game trying to make wind waker on a disk with new controls. i think four swords adventures should be downloadable too but they should replace the gameboy with the wii u remote (but you should be able to use the 3ds if you want to).

Yeah, except I believe there's only one Wii Tablet per Wii U, if I'm not mistaken.

I'd love to see Wind Waker ported with changes including the tablet feature (And maybe even graphical enchantments (WW HD!)

  • Majora's Mask with updated graphics and a somewhat similar menu system like the one they used for the OoT remake on 3DS… I would freak out if they announced that!

This is why I've been against Operation Moonfall. Remaking Majora's Mask to the Wii U would be 1,000 times better than porting it to the 3DS. It could have super realistic graphics and with all that extra disc space they could maybe add some features that had to be held back from the original N64 release.

  • The Wii Waker

WW is one of my favorites but i don't own it so i would love to see a port or a remake for the
    wii u.

  • Another remake of Ocarina of Time…only now updated with the part where Link is supposed to fail. 😛

The Tingle tuner comes to mind.

I'd love to play WW in HD… ( if they remove the annoying triforce map quest thing)
