Nintendo’s own month-long Make Your Own Zelda Flipnote Contest ran from August to September, and for over a month, the contestants have had to endure the long and arduous wait as Nintendo has sifted and sorted through the entries in all of their territories. The prizes? Well, no one was going home with a million dollars or a sneak peek at the upcoming Skyward Sword, much to their chagrin, but Nintendo was promising that the winning entries would be uploaded onto Nintendo’s website and the Nintendo Channel for the world to see and that Shigeru Miyamoto, Eiji Aonuma, and others would give their comments as to why they enjoyed the short animations.
And finally, the wait is finally over! The winners were announced just the other day, and now your inner Zelda geek can watch all 45 of the winning entries on the various Nintendo websites across the globe. You can find the winners of the North American contest here, the Japanese contest here, and the European here.
And all I can say is… dang, I’m a little bit envious of everyone’s ability to draw… much less animate! I make stick figures look bad.
