According to AndriaSang.com, if you want Ocarina of Time 3D and live in Japan, you better pre-order it soon.

Apparently, Nintendo is planning to deliver “extremely small” shipments to Japanese retailers, whether it’s a small store or a large store.  Nintendo is not allowing retailers to order a specific number of units, at least for the first shipment.

Why, you might ask?  Who knows? Maybe it’s due to numerous copies of Spirit Tracks tossed into bargain bins within a few months of its release, leaving Nintendo to be more cautious with their numbers.  Maybe it’s because of the earthquakes and tsunami, leaving few retailers where they hit, and leaving even fewer roads to deliver on.

What do you all think?  Are you going to pre-order it? Why do you think Nintendo is doing this?  Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!

Maybe it's because they're doing some special 25th anniversary thing, perhaps?

  • I should be staff!

So does this affect North America also? Because if it does then that sucks!

  • This news came out last Friday.

  • Shadowknight1

Boy am I glad I preordered the instant a release date was announced.

  • Keimori

I'll Pre-order as soon as the stores nearby offer such.
as for the reason, I'm sure this'll mainly only effect Japan, i think you guys geussed it right with the Tsunami / Earthquake Theory.

Can they just tell us if there will be a 3DS Bundle with OOT or not…

I pre-orded my copy already but i'd easily go back and cancel it to pre-order a bundle.

Anyone have any info on this?

    • cresent soul

buisness-wise, bundles are too expensive to make. But if they were to release bundles for any game, I suppose a legendary title like OoT at the start of a handheld's life cycle is most appropriate. But still, Nintendo don't do the bundle thing that much as others. Mario usually is picked for that stuff anyway, when there is a bundle.

There's also a possibility of the 25th anniverary having a special bundle of sorts that's special for fans. Nintendo have been doing things like that, even if they have added costs, for the sake of building fanbase and loyalty.

My wish: SS and OoT3D to be bundled together with loads of other specials like art books etc. But that would sell too good considering two games each from different systems. But hey, nothing wrong with dreaming 😛

  • Pre-ordered already!

    • cresent soul

I pre-ordered mine with a free poster!!!! Yep, I can see that green eye monster inside of you 😛

I'm gonna wake up in 11:45 drive to best buy and wait for 10 minutes just to get Zelda Oot. Come on its Zelda who wouldn't want to get it immediately after release.

  • I'm sorry, I didn't mean to nitpick. I only brought it up because ZU's been my primary source of Zelda news, but the last couple articles have been a few days behind other sites. I guess that wasn't a very nice thing to say, I just want to see you guys be able to keep up with the same caliber you've always shown. What happened to the rest of the correspondents?

    • I didn't mean it to be hostile, although looking back at it anyone could have taken it badly.

We have Pani and me right now, and Pani hasn't done anything since mid-week last week, and half the time she's busy modding on the forums. So really I'm the only one left. The other correspondents left over…drama and "internal affairs." We're trying our best to get our news out on time, and we're trying to come up with a new system that helps us do that, instead of writing posts and waiting for the editor to log on and post it.

So yeah, don't be sorry. :3

      • I check here on average 3-5 times daily, assuming I have a computer or my iPod available and homework that ought to be doing. What all does the editor do?

  • Lol. And that's why I already own a 3DS, preorder of Skyward Sword, and I'm going to get OoT 3DS as SOON as its in stores.

    • Link

      Lucky you. I don't even have the money to buy a 3DS D;

      • Anom

I'm deeply sorry for you. 🙁

  • Beka

I am deeply thinking about getting a 3DS just for this game, but I don't know if I wanna use all my money…

    • I would totally do that if I had any money. My summer job plans fell through, and I desperately need money for next semester.

  • Hey do you guys know if Jason checks his email often? Because I want to friend him on my 3DS since I'm currently lonely 🙁

    • He checks his email a LOT. Although he doesn't always reply, he at least checks it 😛

    • MrFlox888

Yeah me too! I only have 2 friends…

  • matt17

So you're saying editors have no life doing their job for ZU?

    • No, that's not what I'm saying.

  • It was referring mainly to Japanese people, as that's what the post was about.

And yes, 150000 copies throughout the country. That's not a lot.

  • TheMaverickk

My personal guess is that scarcity breeds demand.

They are going to release small amounts because they want the game to sell out. At which point they will release more copies.

Or possibly the first set of copies will be special and gold like the original OoT.

There's also the fact that there wasn't as many 3DS systems sold. So perhaps they are only launching the game in portion to the amount of systems sold.

    Those are my guesses!

  • starwebs1

    I've already planned:

    1) I'm going to buy Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition in a few days.

    2) I'm not going to spend any money, and if I calculated correctly, I should have enough money on (at latest) June 16 (I live in North America, so that's 3 days early). I shall then pre-order OoT 3D.

    3) Plus, I should still have about ten dollars left over! =D For those of you out there who don't have enough money, save up! IT WILL BE WORTH IT! The 3DS certainly is. (I have one.)

    PEACE OUT!

  • I wish more Nintendo games would be tossed into bargain bins. That way I could get them for less. 😛

    • prada

true true true…we're not all made out of the green smelly stuff…coleslaw

    • cresent soul

yeah, and it encourage nintendo to make even more awesomer games in the future. So win for us fans and another win again for us fans. But very scary from nintendo's perspective 😛

  • cresent soul

didn't 3DS start off well? I thought it did sell well. And if it did, then any game should be sold at high demand now, especially with a small launch range at the start.

  • Link's granfatha

Holy balls. Wish I could get it.
