We’re all familiar with gaming marathons for charity. Versus Marathons played through several Zelda games a while back for the Child’s Play Charity, Zelda Eternity did a Metroid marathon for flood victims in Pakistan, and now we have another marathon being played for the Big Brothers Big Sisters agency.

Penguins in the Desert Productions is a group that raises money specifically for their local Big Brothers Big Sisters agency.  With their previous two marathons, Penguins in the Desert have managed to raise about $6,500, and are aiming for $4000 this time around.

Their third marathon is going to be a Zelda marathon, held on December 10, starting at 7 o’clock P.M. EST, and will be streamed live on their website, penguinsmarathons.com. The team will be playing through seven games: The Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Link, A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, and  The marathon will not end until ALL of the games have been completed.

For more info about this marathon being played for a great cause, check out the official press release here.

The Adventure of Link can be very unforgiving. This could be quite the Marathon. Why no love for my favorite Zelda, Link's Awakening?

    • ChainofTermina

looks like it's because they're only doing the console games.

  • Manga ninja

    GO GO!

  • Wow, is it me, or did the music sound a little bit like Dark Knight?

I love it that they're doing this, and I hope they don't have too much trouble with Adventure of Link. For my own play-through, I'm about to beat Wind Waker (What is this, Facebook?) and then it's on to Twilight Princess!

Good luck with the marathon, ZE, and happy playing!

    • The music did sound like Dark Knight, but it was the Inception trailer theme, or at least a redone version of it.

    • Ferisan

That's because the music for Inception and Dark Knight were done by the same composer, Hans Zimmer.

      • zoraluigi

        I love that guy!

        • Ferisan

Me too, he's one of my favorite composers x3

          • Oh, cool! I just now saw that the video title read "Inception Spoof/Parody," which I really want to see the real movie of. Hans Zimmer has a unique style of music which brings the action and emotion out of movies, making them epic. The same with Koji Kondo with his themes for Zelda!

  • Joko tree

I have got to level 5 on LOZ and I love playing the game I think I should team up with a group of people and do a Zelda marathon for charity. Also I've completed MM, MC, PH and nearly OOT.

    • Joko tree

      Nope sorry WW not MM.

  • ChainofTermina

Ha, that guy went out to get his head blown off after being told he has to play Zelda 2. that's funny.

  • Adam

Adam here from the marathon group. Just wanted to send along a huge thanks to Caleb and ZU for covering our event. We know there are tons of Zelda Marathons to sift through, and they can't all be covered. So we feel fortunate. It is our hope that through these videos and the entertainment we provide throughout the marathon that we will differentiate ourselves from the pack.

    ……and I will be playing Zelda 2 🙁

  • Ferisan

I wasnt going to be able to, but now that I've seen that video im definitely making some time to watch it because they took the time to do an elaborate, funny, and super nerdy video accompanying it. 8D

and because inception parodies are always cool.

  • QueenxLink

LOL This is hilarious! I saw inception, though, it was a cool movie. This was so funny.
