The folks over at VGMaps have been making great video game maps for gamers for a long time now – whether those gamers be perfectionists striving to explore every nook and cranny of a map, or just plain lost. Many of you are probably familiar with the site, but you may not be aware of their latest undertaking. It’s a doozie of a job, and so far there are only small samples of work to see. Although, from what is done so far, hopes are certainly high; the maps are very well done.

Well, I suppose it’s time to stop beating around the scrub and reveal the project, eh? The project, if you had not already inferred from the picture above, is to make a complete atlas for all of Ocarina of Time. The map can be found here, though so far only the Kokiri Forest is complete.

Assuming that there will be no major changes to the 3DS version’s map, this project will prove to be useful in the (all-too-distant) near future when Ocarina of Time 3D is released. As always, we’ll keep you posted as this project progresses.

Looks like it involved some ROM hacking. Or maybe just the L to levitate code. Either way it looks good.
