There was an interview with Reggi, and Miyamoto for a Latin American magazine. It was translated, and had a few interesting tidbits.

Miyamoto was asked about Wii Motion Plus, and if it was going to be used in upcoming Zelda and Pikmin games. In traditional Nintendo style, it was not confirmed. He did go on to say that there are too many peripherals, and that Nintendo would be cutting back.

Reggie said that the Wii would not have a hard drive, and that they can do better…

The Zelda game in development is unique because work on it began for the Wii, unlike TP which started out as a Gamecube game.

Here are the links to the two articles, one goes on about a possible retro Metroid title.

    OH! SNAP!

any news about zelda is always good news. They gotta put out a trailer before the end of the year.

They say no hard drive, but something better. It had better be good then.

hints of a retro style metroid? HELL YES

  • ZantDarksage

Better than a hard drive.. Right Reggie.

” ‘WiiBank’ is the online solution to store your game memory – online! Simply input your wii code and WiiPin to access this revolutionary storage option, and load your WiiSportandstuffLOL even at your mother’s house! That is, if you jam packed that quarter-GB internal HDD. Slow down kids!

Somebody can hack you that way.

  • Well, this was actually a good interview.

1.The next Zelda is going to be special. That means they probably have experimented with the controls with a tutorial, and may have an idea at what the graphics will look like. Also, if they are talking about it already, we cant be over a few months away from a base trailer or some info.

2.It confirms Pikmin IS for the Wii, not the DS. Not only that, but they may have started designing it.

3.Nintendo is actually doing something about the Wii's storage issue. They aren't going to make us delete games as we lose interest in them, as annoying Cammie suggested.

4.Maybe retro title for mario or metroid.

Wii Zelda + Wii Motion Plus = I’m having sweet dreams about stabbity-stabbing monsters tonight!
I’m getting more and more impatient.

    Retro Metroid?! Sign me up!!
I hope the storage solution they’re working on is actually good. I know they must be looking for ways to do it easily and effectively… I just think simply letting the Wii read off of and write to SD cards and USB flash drives would solve all the problems (as opposed to being forced to move everything around before you can use it).

Also, I’m glad to see that they’re finally getting that there are too many peripherals.

“Reggie said that the Wii would not have a hard drive, and that they can do better…”

In oher words “We’re shit, we recognise that we’re shit. We’re NOT doing anything about it.”

    • Tonchiki

No, it means the Wii will have a solution BETTER than a hard drive, not “we know it’s bad and don’t care”.

  • Ferilink

Ah yes I saw the magazine but didn’t buy it ’cause i had already spent my spare change on a nintendo/zelda stamp book they released recently here lol -w-; but I’ll buy it next time. But it did catch my attention because it said “Interview with Miyamoto!” on the front :c im gonna get it when I can.

If someone can get me high quality scans (so i can read it xD the letters are too small in those pics) or when I buy it, i can translate the interview in full for those interested.
