TSA over at Zentendo pointed me to an interesting little article, Iwata Asks: Link’s Crossbow Training. In it, Miyamoto explains the origins of Link’s Crossbow Training. Details after the jump.

The article is a translation of an article from the Japanese Wii website that’s been around for a few weeks, but no one translated ’til now.

Ideas for the game were wide and varying, might have even ended up as a full-blown Zelda game, according to the article. But, the time wasn’t right yet, or something. The article also says that Miyamoto thinks first-person games are fun, and his design team considered making Ocarina of Time a first person game, but the technology wasn’t there for it. I wonder how much different the world of video gaming would be if that had happened…

All in all, an interesting read.
